Elstone to leave

Thought they'd got Giroud and then Diego Costa. Given that they didn't ever sign, is that not by very definition naive? Where does the naivety end? With the manager? With the DOF? Or with the guy that threw them together because Leicester won the PL and Koeman, I maintain, who was brought in because he is a Hollywood manager. There is no denying that- there is a direct quote above.

Pellegrini? Mancini? Just two examples which took me 14 seconds to think of. To suggest that "very few" have had the chance is a huge exaggeration. They are out there and don't take a Football Manager database brain to find them. Certainly people with better credentials than Ronald Koeman

So just to clarify, you are saying that the CEO is responsible for organising this aspect of the club but the guy who talks about us in public, is involved in hiring and firing managers and DOF, is involved with transfers (even if - and I am positive you are incorrect - he is merely paying for them) HASN'T been naive. Instead the CEO with less seniority, is completely culpable? Doesn't wash i'm afraid mate. Moshiri has shook up the club and his choices have been poor and, i repeat, extremely naive.

That's not to say he's solely responsible. The CEO, Walsh, Koeman... the list goes on.

I make no apologies to you or anyone else that I liked Martinez. If in your judgement, because it's minority, it has to be edgy and I am attempting to go against the grain for the sake of it, then that's your issue mate, not mine.

I don't have an issue with it at all, it was just plain wrong and was shown to be over the fullness of time. Well done though, very edgy.

Who has been naive? Ah yes, the executive arm of the football club, who were in on the deals. Surely you can see that? It's not that complicated.

sigh, I even wrote it out for you

Very very few manager has had the chance to spend that sort of money , and the ones that have were not joining Everton.

Neither would have joined Everton when Koeman did. Again there are 'very few' of them. In Spain there must be what, three currently? Here there are 7 maybe (not across their career, in a single club). Certainly very few to have spent £100m+ in a single window. So no, not a huge amount and again, even fewer who would have joined us.

What do you mean 'doesn't wash'? What sort of crap phrase is that? It might not wash with you because you don't understand a CEO's role in setting organisational direction, but that's ok.

You said he was 'out of his depth' , there's absolutely no evidence to back that up. It's complete tosh, which is why you are changing the argument.

Elstone on the one occasion I had the opportunity to see him in action at a presentation at Hull University impressed me mightily with his portrayal of our club. He illustrated things about our involvement in the community and afterwards I was proud of the job he was doing in showing us in a positive manner.
Then in an instant my feelings did a complete about turn. I waited my turn in the lounge afterwards to speak to him, as soon as he saw I was not an academic, or somebody of substance he didn't give me time of day. Silly maybe but you know what they say about first impressions. He's a self centred arsehole.

Ok mate. We can go sentence to sentence but it's clear we just don't agree. You'll point to my seeming lack of knowledge of the topic, I'll point towards the buckets of evidence (imo) which point towards a man who was desperate to spend his money but failed to build a team capable of spending it. Evidence, again in my opinion, you seek to ignore.

I may be wrong. And as with Martinez, I will have no problem being proven to be a fool.

Let's leave it there.

Happy to come over & drive him to wherever he needs to go...and you all know how far I have to come to do that!!!
