Mick 1 - do you have any more raps you can share mate?
Mick 2 - pipe down with your white iPhone.
Is right yo.
chicoazula had a listen to your raps on my high quality bluetooth speaker last night and said you're good and that you got talent. As she pointed out: I couldn't do something like that. So I might have to prove her wrong and learn to rap.
What tips would you give to someone starting out as it looks easier that it really is I reckon.
Post a video of yourself freestyling please, Mick.
Listen to rap at every opportunity. Listen to lyrical geniuses like Nas, Slick Rick, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli,
I'd even suggest listening to an up and coming artist called Mic Righteous, he's English and is quality.
Practice writing, at first it might be awful, my first rap in 1999 was like:
"Ima keep rapping so keep your heads bobbin, don't stop movin cos Murphy ain't stopping"
Just keep going, it probably won't make sense and be out of place but just write something every day or so, when you've wrote something, send it to me and I'll show you techniques. I'll also get you in the studio to record something.
Mick I'm older than you but I used to be really into rap back in the 80's when it first got started. Run DMC, Whodini, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy. That was my thing.
Do the younger generation like you ever go back and listen to the old records like Rock fans do with the Beatles and The Who and such?
I can do this tomorrow
