You are doing football wrong

Lighten up, if a team is playing that directly affects Everton as a team, of course I would want them to lose but willing single team (apart from one) to lose is not how you follow the game of football.

I’m well aware it’s petty. I do find it really strange that Evertonians would cheer the likes of TAA but I suppose everyone is different.

It’s been an insufferable few years but Everton gave given me some phenomenal memories I’ll take to my grave. England haven’t.

I’m 32. Everton have given me nothing but pain and embarrassment and England have given me my most positive footballing memories and also genuine hope of seeing a trophy being lifted in my lifetime. Sorry.

I’m 33.

I followed my team around Europe for the first time in my life with by best mates.

I visited places like Kharkiv, Liege, Florence and Nuremberg.

I watched Everton win away from home in European competition. No better feeling in the world.

Good stuff that to be fair. I went away to Lille which was great apart from the actual game of football, and also Atalanta in 2017 which ended in nothing but further anger and embarrassment. I wish I had some positive Everton memories to share. FA Cup semi final 2009 is probably the one and only that really stands out.

Yeah. The pen shoot out at Wembley was an absolutely phenomenal day.

As I’ve said, some of my life’s fondest memories are linked to Everton. I have none associated with the England national side.
