That's the worst start as manager I've ever seen. Clearly hasn't been informed that you want to keep the nations fans onside or the job gets 10 times harder. Selections like Henderson, Quansah, Konsa, walker. They are just going to annoy the public.

Branthwaite plays in one of the best defences in the league, conceded 10 less than Konsas Villa. I know Branthwaite started of the season shakily when he came back but he's really grown into it of late. My fear is that this sort of decision could force his hand in wanting to move to another club.

He's got a good chance of playing for NI. Few good young players at the minute with Shea & Pierce Charles, Isaac Price, Trai Hume and Conor Bradley.

I think Hume is ready to step up to the premier league next year even if Sunderland don't win the play offs.

Could imagine certain players might have been added for their personalities or leadership qualities. The Euros were a bit of a debacle and it looked like the spirit of the squad had tanked a little bit. Maybe that's why some of the older players have been added.

That's the only reason, hopefully it's a short term thing, get the culture right then sack off the old has-beens.
