Baines and Jagileka = fodder England turn to for qualifying games in far flung places the superstars dont want to go to. They'll be warming the bench in Brazil.

Gibbs will be in over Baines. Give it a few months.

As for the game...

No one has really talked about Wilshire and Lampard's inability to keep the ball. Lampard's not organising the midfield as a "captain" on his 100th cap. None of them are sitting in. It's why Gerrard will always play over him.

Lallana and Rodriguez don't work in the side as its set up. Maybe in a 5 in the middle but not working off Rooney.

Back 4 is a bit sloppy as they've never played together before and have not protection.

No one can really stand out when the team is a bit of a mess.

That's it. Hodgson is clearly far to rigid tactically to be able to get the best out of this type of player imo.

Both are better technically than Danny Welbeck for eg...but Welbeck has pace and is very direct which works up the pitch in the positions they're in at the moment.
