Probably not. But we dominated europe (well mostly those weapons down the road did) in the 80s when teams like Ipswich, Forest, Villa, Arsenal and ourselves won in Europe with players mostly from the home nations if not england.

And in terms of sheer entertainment there were some great games in those days. As an Everton fan all of our best moments were before there too many foreign players.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching the like of Arteta, Pienaar and Cahill but saying that players like Dixie Dean or Alan Ball would dilute the quality of the prem or that guys like Leighton Baines do it now is a little silly.

The Capello thing is a peculiar one as he obviously has an excellent pedigree, I just think he's finding it difficult to cope with the media and fans being assistant manager as what usually happens. Lets not forget that Capello was the saviour of English football two games ago and now, predictably, he's a failure etc etc.

That's where a huge part of the problem lies with England, he should be given time to sort it out but perhaps won't. England are like the Newcastle of international football really, look at the fans.
