In what universe does replacing jack grealish, sterling and Kane with Saka, horrenderson and Abraham win a game?

Southgate showing once again how he doesn't have a clue and has no ideas other than sticking to his favourites....

Would have went with Watkins ahead of Abraham too
 

That was as bad as watching Ancelotti’s Everton.

That slow passing style is great whdd we n you are ahead and terrible when chasing a game.

No hope of breaking Hungary down. Kane invisible. DCL would have made a difference I think.
 
Deserved point for Hungary, but I felt they should have been pushing for the win as much as we were. If the Albania/Poland game resumes and remains 1-0 Poland then it all but rules the Hungarians out of the picture as Poland would be 6 clear and have a better GD and they play each other in the final game

The bold part is spot on IMO. This team is not very good at taking the game to an opposition. Was similar to the Scotland game at the euros.
 
For all their possession England can't create chances let alone score them. Kane was a passenger, had one chance and ballooned it miles over the bar. The Henderson substitution must be the weirdest sub in history when you need a goal to win.
 

They talked about Sven having a golden generation, and in a way it’s hard to cane Southgate when he’s produced this great chemistry, but he’s not a good enough manager.

The reality is simple. This side is good enough to win a major tournament. Abundance’s of talent, but when Southgate is playing the role of David Moyes, bottle merchant you won’t get far.

Should turn over Andorra by 7-8 goals, instead he sat back in the first half snd then decided to keep tweaking. Get your qualification shorted, and then meddle.

He should go after the World Cup.
 
As much as he’s captain and main goalscorer, Kane really shouldn’t be playing for club or country, he doesn’t seem in the right place head wise

I agree. They need another plan when a team defends like that. DCL would have given them a target. They need other ways of playing.

I was shouting at the television when the defenders and the midfielders were passing backwards at every opportunity. It sent shivers down my back and reminded me of the worst dark moments of last season. A team that just didn’t know how to break down in an opposition.
