Simply, it's history both footballing and in the wider sense. For Germans, you'd say their rivalries are England, Italy and definitely the Netherlands.

In fact, the latter is the big one and England is probably the least, but that's due to the fact they've typically won.
I know a fair few Germans and when a footballing rivalry conversation occurs they always look really bemused.

Netherlands certainly, other than that they generally just want to beat everybody and know that everybody wants to beat them.

He never performs for England so its not a big shock people expected Grealish to play. Grealish deserves the start as well

I'm not saying Sancho is a poor player but everytime I watch him I dont see how he's an 80m player or whatever united are paying
If every time you watch him is for England it wouldn't make sense. He's a player who thrives in direct, aggressive, attacking teams. England aren't that, I actually think United is and it should work for him there.

One person...

And is it weird to be anti English? Especially if you are not English?

It is not weird to be anti English but it is weird to be so invested in England losing a football game that you have to find even the most tenuous reasons for either not liking them or for them not to be deserving a win.

That is what I was alluding to.

Yes the dark is superb, when you’re next in Prague there’s a bar called U Černého Vola ( looked up the correct spelling) best pint of Kozel I’ve had.
I live three minutes walk from a bar where a 0.5l of Kozel 11 costs about 60p but the landlord's girlfriend is an absolute harridan.

Told her, if I want nagging about how much I'm drinking I'll go home. Keeping a low profile from the place for a few days.

But the bar you suggest is pretty well known, it appeared in a Czech movie Jako jed (Like Poison) and I think I've had a drink there, but cheers for the suggestion, I try to avoid Prague as much as possible, but I might have to make an exception.

Explain, why exactly is a win in football a Tory win.

My reasoning that it won't be any win for any political party is that the football doesn't represent. I am sure the players will have various views on politics and the fans definitely have various viewpoints. Politicians don't pick the team so please give us the exact reasons why you think that it will be a Tory win.
