Euro2020 Knock Out Rounds

I don't know what way is up in this thread I tell thee. If England win it then they'll have deserved it, if they don't they haven't and please remember plastic furniture is for life and not just for tournaments.

I'd actually agree with that Dave.

The issue I have is that it's happened at set pieces all the way through the tournament, by all teams, both defensively and offensively. Let's face it, holding at set pieces has been deemed part and parcel of the game. I've seen the defending team get an occasional free kick, but this is the first one I've seen given to the attacking team and it came in the 50th game of the tournament.

Where is the consistency? That's what we want isn't it?

Of course you call it out as a legitimate foul as you wanted England to lose. But I guarantee if it had been England who had scored a free kick from the same type of decision, you'd have been making exactly the same point I am.
No, I wouldn't.

How could I argue that it wasn't a penalty no way, no how as I have with an incident with Sterling who - with no contact on him - threw himself to the ground?

You're not comparing like with like there.

There's one thing I agree with the Kopites on: Sterling is an utter rat.

Even outside of that incident I've never been able to take to that lad at all. The constant whingeing from him and the precious way he has of conducting himself.

He's an unlikeable turd.

Crikey

Very often the best footballing teams don't win knock out competitions even part ones, hence the popularity and why Greece and Denmark have won this cup previously. As for this format not our (England) issue, personally believe its an horrendous idea, and has been designed by UEFA sponsors and invested partners to exploit monies out of those who can happily or stupidly be exploited.
Greece and Denmark: they're players weren't the highest paid *superstars* playing their football in the biggest domestic league in the world.

Regardless of having two Championship-level holding MF players in Rice and Phillips, England cannot be compared to the against the odds victories achieved by Greece, Denmark and the Czechs in this competition.
