There isnt much point it there? Some posters are posting absolute tripe, as per, based on agendas and a hatred of their/my country that I dont get.

I hope England win. I am not going to let a few bell ends spoil my enjoyment, or otherwise, of an historic sporting event.

I can't believe it's tomorrow. Would prefer a week longer to prepare! I hope we win without any controversy or penalty shootouts tomorrow.

One of those games you wait all your life for and then feel sick with anxiety watching!

It's probably going to be the most nerve-wracking game for me since 95, and won't mean much if we don't win it. I'll go right off football and right into 'it's only a game' mode if we lose!

Not another 2 decades of basing our footballing heritage around a narrow loss! Crazy how a 1990 semi-final has had documentaries made about it! Can kind of understand why the home nations want us to lose as they will never hear the end of it! Glad I'm not in England though as it will be easy to shut it all out whatever happens!

But I don't know this time it kinda feels right?

He's found a blend and a way of playing. They look teak tough at the minute with a strong mentality I haven't seen in an England team before. Italy will have to score a couple at least to get the job done.

Thats what I see, after decades of "golden generations" and such like rubbish. I think we are similar ages, certainly the same generation, and I didnt think England were allowed in International football till 1982 ffs. They then went from pillar to post, flattered to deceive save 2 moments, (neither were built on).

But this lot? Young, most been in the England system since boys, ego free, (seemingly), on a clear development plan. They are difficult to dislike as a team/group.

It's not the team (or manager, tbh) I object to, or the way they're playing...which suits them perfectly to this point.

It's what happens with any success they have. I cant seperate them from that. That's just the way it is for me.

If you enjoy the team, and how they play, just enjoy it for that. I dont care how others react if they win, within reason, but I know I will be thrilled for them, and the vast majority of folk following them. Most of which wont watch another football match for ages anyrate.

I've said before, you need a bit of luck in tournament football, and England have only played 1 team who were ranked in the top 10 of the FIFA rankings at both the World Cup and the Euros, and they lost twice to the Belgians.

Everyone else you would fully expect them to beat as we're a much bigger nation. The "Golden Generation" team lost to Brazil in 2002, Portugal in 2004, and again in 2006, with the last two being on penalties.

Pretty fine margins between being seen as no-hopers and a good team.

If the boot was on the other foot and I was the impartial viewer with no personal national interest, first and foremost I would support the team that Everton players represent, for instance Brazil tonight against Argentina. Secondly, I would support the country my fellow Evertonian's on GOT are rooting for, whether that be Colombia, USA, Ireland or Wales.

I was genuinely rooting for Wales as they progressed in the last euros, and have supported both Scotland and Ireland at world cups when England didn't qualify.

I don't get the hatred for England, which seems to be genuine, and wonder sometimes whether that hatred also spills over from sport into everyday life.

Don't get me wrong, there's been plenty of times when I've not been arsed about the England team, and often some of the players have been easy to dislike. But I can't say I've ever actually wanted them to fail the way that some English born people on here do. Especially as this particular team are such a likeable bunch not to mention young and talented.
