Can't really complain Italy was the better side. But god damn it, what is wrong with us?

3 out of 5 missed penalties and they used those stupid little run-ups! Don't they realize that by stopping mid-flow like that they lose all power on the shot! Just blast it!

Well, we'll never have a better chance to win a major tournament in the rest of my lifetime, I think. Facts are that we were leading at with 24 minutes left, and then were at a goal advantage up in the penalty shootout, but somehow still couldn't close out the deal.

Like with Martinez and Belgium, I think England's failure was down to a manager bereft of ideas. You could see pressure building on 60 mins and he did nothing. Then they scored and he did nothing. Then it went to extra time and he did nothing.

Italy are not a more physical side than England, but they bossed the game. That is the biggest crime.

Donnarumma getting the Player of the Tournament is maybe a touch lucky, he made half the amount of saves Pickford made going by official stats while Pickford conceeded the least goals and had more clean sheets

I think with Italy winning the tournament and winning two pen shootouts they were obliged to give it to an Italian player and given that no Italian player has scored more than 2 goals it makes sense why they gave it to donnarumma for his shootout performances as he created history tonight as it’s the first time a side has won 2 pen shootouts at the same euros.
