Europa Conference League

And even if your not you wouldn't be playing any of the lads who go the euros. You'd likely be up against Latvian farmers so could have a mixed team out.

Any excuse to get in Europe is essential for me.

I'd just do what arsenal do and play mixed teams until you get to a decent stage and then you can start playing the big guns.

This club needs Europe
100 % this. Whats the point if we don't take Europe in whatever form it is to start us off again. Carlo has always worked on 2 games a week and we will have a better squad than last year with hopefully 2 or 3 of the young lads stepping up . We were never gonna go from no European football to CL football in Carlo's first 18 months in charge. We have a solid base with Carlo there now to continue to improve on. He knows European football inside out so club need to back him

You ready for a European Tour this summer Granter lad? ♡

It's progress.

Was this season an opportunity to jump the line a bit and sneak CL? Yes.
Is that still possible with 6 games to go? YES.
Is it likely? NO.
Would we have taken this position at the start of the season? YES.
Would we define this as progress? YES.
Would it furtehr the brand across Europe? YES.

Europe attracts a slightly better calibre of player, combine that with us paying good wages, having a world class, well respected manager in football in charge.

I dont know about anyone else, I don't care what competition it's in, I'd be happy to see us palying Roma, Villarreal, BMG, Marseille. He'll i'm happy to see when we get friendlies against these teams. A bit of bad luck with injuries and perhaps a missing piece of the midfield higsaw has hampered us this season, but we've come along way already under CA in my eyes, menality has changed,Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal away all defeated.

I couldn't care for managers whining about amount of games. Footballers would rather play matches than train. Providing we aren't absolutely dreadful, more Everton games the better for me.

Ideally we'd be going into CL, then EL, but i'd defo take EL2 now as a settlement. I just want us back playing in Europe.

Good wages and a World class manager with a huge reputation attracts players. Prestigious European game nights also attract players.

But I'm not sure the best players are that enamoured about jumping on a plane for a Thursday night game against whoever came 3rd in the Albanian league in Europe's 3rd trophy.

"Congrats dude you guys qualified for the Europa Conference B Subdivision League, woo woo"

So do you want the Europa League, where we’ll have an arguably more taxing season due to a higher quality?
Or European football, where fans will actually be able to attend in the knockout phases and give Everton an excellent chance of winning a trophy.
Genuinely curious, as sounds to me as if you’d be happier finishing 9th, attracting top players to play for mid table fodder and clutch to near impossible dream of Champions League.

Build on it, get used to two games a week, and rotate, and get some of the younger lads some exposure to first team.

For me, it’s a can’t lose scenario.

Christ there are some real idiots that follow us.

Do you honestly think we would just simply jump straight from 12th to CL football. The same people would probably still moan about not being able to compete because of too many games.

Comments like 'what's the point' are actually very defeatist, you may think you are cool and having a winning mentality but it is the opposite. We realists see the long term, are there risks to extra games, yes, but we are not at the top level. It is a step by step process.

Hopefully, we can get into the Europa League (CL may be too far at the moment but we are still technically in the race) but, for me, this will a decent consolation and still a stepping stone to better things.

It is not an all or nothing world we live in and I, for one, would prefer something to nothing.

Calling other fans idiots is probably not the best way to construct an argument.

Personally I think this whole competition is a waste of time. The rewards are few and the risks are high. How will you feel when DCL or Allan picks up an injury playing a Bulgarian team in this comp that means we drop down Prem places ?

The Europa is worthwhile, this comp is a joke for a club of our stature. Might as well get excited for pre season friendlies at this point.

What stature is that? If we finish 8th and don't qualify it just means our stature is actually below the competition, you do realise that, right?

I just want to see my team abroad

I assume if we won the thing the cool kids wouldn't want to attend the trophy parade around town what with being so hip and all.

I barely remember the cup win in 95 due to age and would love to take my young lad in his Everton clobber to a victory parade in town full of blues for once instead of trying to dodge the RS ones.

Obviously EL would be preferred but this is still a very good chance at a trophy and automatic qualification for EL the following season taking pressure off a top 6 league finish.

Its redundant anyway as I've resigned myself to Lego hair Mikel fluking another pot with a bang average Arsenal side + Lacazette/Aubameyang.
