European footy = more exposure and better players will want to sign for us.

Plus the big teams are in Europe.

I like the Europa league and hope we are in it next season, but there are fundemental problems with it.

There are too many teams involved in it, too many games and some serious "cannon fodder" teams in it at the qualifying stage and group stage, then all the champions league 3rd place teams drop in.

I think they should reduce the number of games, either by reducing the number of teams that qualify initially or removing the champions league 3rd place teams.

Supporting a football team is about so much more than just turning up at the home games every other week.

It is also about trips away with one's pals and enjoying seeing places one wouldn't otherwise see.

And just in case this fact has escaped you, win the blooming thing next season and the CL beckons.

And that, my friend, is very much in "Everton's best intersts".

Newcastle couldnt cope with Europe because lets be honest, the team that finished 5th massively overachieved and they barely strengthened the Summer they got into the thing. Swansea have been dire since they won the League Cup so to suggest the Europa League ruined their form is wrong.

When we were last in Europe we coped brilliantly, with a much smaller squad to what we have now, we also played some absolutely outstanding football. Whats the point at not aiming for Europa League? We wont be coming close to the Champions League until the board pump some serious money into the team, thats not going to happen.

Europa League allows us to give the likes of; McAleny, Barkley, Stones, Lundstram etc the chance to experience European Football and allows them to develop. It also gives us exposure across Europe. Gives us access to a better pool of players, any little bit of extra income is welcome in my eyes, plus, what you all seem to be forgetting is that its a chance of silverware AND the winners as of next year get Champions League Qualification. We may not get it through League placings, but we could quite easily do what Fulham did a few years back and get ourselves to the final, and quite possibly win it.

The benefits of the Europa League far outweigh the negatives.
Christ, Everton Football Club SHOULD be playing in some form of European Competition ffs.

Another plus for us is that Roberto would embrace the Europa League.

The managers of those other clubs were moaning about it from the start....effectively getting in excuses for a bad run in the league by blaming the EL.

Roberto will be salivating at the thoughts of a European campaign....especially with the golden carrot of the CL at the end of it.

We've had years of looking like we might get near top 4 only to get nowhere near. Holding out for that forever is not too appetising.

I personally believe we will not plummet down the league just by being in thus tournament. If you think the club will explode and never recover from qualifying for it then youre a pessimist and I pity you.

I hope we qualify and go all out to win it.

probably because he's 36 and he knows we may have to buy a new younger centre back to copy with league and europe and his great career will peter out to an end.
