But what about the teams that get knocked out of the Champs Lgue qualifiers, surely they are above us in coefficients?

You're right.

But in Bert Kassies list, which you can find on his website, he includes the most probable outcome for each round, the one which includes us, has the 5 lowest ranked, dropouts from the CL, and the result is that Everton are still top of the list.

The list includes the likes of Athletic Bilbao, Lille, Copenhagen and Standard Liege, who are, of course still in the Champions League.

Oh FWIW, from the Champions List, if there are any upsets, then, we could suffer significicantly (By 4 places)... The likes of RB Salzburg, Steaua Bucharest, BATE Borisov and APOEL could all drop out, and subsequently we'd drop in places, but as shown in this round, upsets happen, and i thoroughly expect 2-3 of the teams ranked above us to be eliminated.

As you see, we're top of Pot Three, with the 5 predicted Champions League drop outs of Lille, Copenhagen, Bilbao, Liege, Besiktas being accounted for.

So effectively, if there are upsets in the Champions pot, So if RB Salzburg, BATE Borisov, Steaua Bucharest and APOEL all go out, which is highly unlikely imho, although one or two could easily do just that, we could drop 4 places. So we'd need any 5 of the teams who are marked with an asterisk (*), to go out in order to go in Pot two, if that makes sense. The more vulnerable sides are going to be Kharkiv, Celtic, Sparta Prague etc.. but i fully expect that we'll go into pot two, with an obviously easy group involving Twente, Maribor and Slovan Bratislava, or a potential toughy being Inter, Lokomotiv Moscow and Saint-Ettiene.

My head hurts

Results which mattered tonight:
UPDATED:

Brondby 0-2 Club Brugge (Half Time: 0-5 on agg).
St. Polten 2-3 PSV (FT: PSV through 4-2 on Agg).
Lyon 0-0 Mlada Boleslav (1st Half: 4-1 on agg)
Cluj 0-2 Dinamo Minsk (Full Time 0-3 on agg)
Everton move up to second in Pot Three.
Viktoria Plzen 1-4 Petrolul Ploiesti (Full Time: 2-5 on agg) Everton have moved up to the highest ranked team in Pot Three.

So all in all it's gnna be a good day for us here, we're gonna need just one slip up in the next round to be pot 2.

And if Celtic fluke their reinstatement... we're in Pot 2.

The qualificationgames will be drawn today, at 11 I Think, for both CL and EL. Then we can see which teams above us might face tough battles and are most likely to drop out. If we end up in pot 3, and all favourites win their games.. The easiest possible group, on paper, in my eyes would be:
Twente, Copenhagen, Everton, Malmö FF
That sounds much easier than:
Sevilla, Wolfsburg, Everton, Torino

give uss another good insight after draw mate

Is anyone else partly hoping we stay in Pot 3? Obviously the priority is to get through but the potential aways look far better from Pot 2 than 3. And the teams in Pot 3 don't exactly fill me with fear...PAOK, FC Coenhagen, Sparta Prague.

We should be beating any team from Pot 2 down.

I just want to avoid any Ukrainian teams today! Or Russian teams in that general vicinity.

As regards the numerous group permutaions, let the cards fall where they may. Teams like Spurs and Everton should have no problems finishing in the top 2 whoever they draw (assuming we make it).
Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
