European Football 2023-24

I just read it. Lots of parallels. The Germans are much stricter with debt etc than us. Half the EFL and PL wouldn't have professional licences if we followed their rules.
True - but then those clubs wouldn't have needed to spend the mad money they did if we had the German 50+1 rule.

Oh my days, where do I start.

My local polish club played cup final today against Wisla Krakow which is a second tier this days.

We lead until 99th minute (on 98th the ball was in Wisla's final third) and there were 7 minutes added on. Last kick of the game 1-1 and then 1-2 in Extra Time after massive error from our central midfielder.

It would be our first cup in the club's history.

Even Everton wouldnt bottle it like that I think.

Sorry to hear! That's of course if you support them!

Are the extra places for the Champions League in Italy and Germany for who finishes in the places this season or next season?

This season.

So Dortmund winning last night actually meant that they qualified for CL for next season (they're currently 5th).

Think if Dortmund win the CL, the side who finishes 6th will get in.

1/3 of the league

Thanks mate wasn't sure.
Bit rediclous though leagues only finding this out so late in the season. Should really be decided before the season starts same with points deductions being daft during the season.

Jesus a 3rd of the league potentially in the Champions league is crazy. The sooner uefa rename it the European Cup / league the better. Makes a mockery of the Champions part

I'd say it's a mess, aa potentially they'll have 9 teams in Europe if Leverkusen win the Europa too, which is half the league.

But England can also get something ridiculous like 10 teams in Europe. Feels a bit like Rugby Union where more or less every side qualifies for European competition, when does it lose its aura?

Just need to delete the Conference League it's a load of garbage.

Thought it was a maximum of 5 places up for grabs.
