Not a fan of Sigurdsson however the fact we played him left wing for his first season, played him in the No 10 for his 2nd and binned him off for his favoured position half way through the 3rd and now stuck on the bench.

£45m is madness for a Swansea player but not to pay that money then build around is insane.

Sigurdsson:
125 games with 25 goals (1 in 5) and 18 assists (1 in 6.4)

Arteta:
209 games with 35 goals (1 in 5.9) and 33 assists (1 in 6.3)

He isn't worth £45m but that's our fault not his but he isn't terrible.

It's Klaassen for £24m - 16 games nowt and a loss of £12m.

Greg O’Keefe told me Klaassen couldn’t be in the running because he was doing really well at Bremen (they’ve since sold him after nearly being relegated) and we still got a good fee for him (we lost twelve million pounds).

Thank god our fine Everton journalists are more on the ball than this mere fool who thinks a good barometer for a poor Everton signing should be how they actually perform for Everton.

Did he actually say that?

Can’t believe you never included Alcarez @MikeH72

By far the worst CB displays I’ve ever seen for this club, and that includes Per Kroldrups warm up against Aston Villa when he couldn’t head a ball

Cost us nothing and left for nothing. I also didn’t include Cuco Martina, the worst player we’ve ever had. Question was purely based on value for money.

Promise you mate. The athletic did a rate Everton’s worst signing Q&A about a year ago and that’s what he replied to my comment. I think but I’m not 100% sure that he went with Krouldrup in the end. You know the bloke who went on to have a pretty good serie A career totally going against what he said to me.

Maybe he’s best mates with Davy or something.
