Angell is a good one, they’res loads of the Walter smith era and HK Mitch ward, Carl tiler ginola, Christ there is to many lol
Every club has loads of transfer that are terrible.

I think the real issue with Everton is that you can pinpoint times when there is a huge volume of poor transfers in a short period of time. The Mike Walker era is definitely an example of that!

In terms of the original Q, I think Brett Angel is up there. £500k in 1994 wasn't a huge fee at the time but it wasn't small either (British record transfer fee was 5.5M at that point). It was a massive fee for a player who'd only really proven he could score regularly at Second and Third Division level at that point. His First Division scoring record wasn't that great for Southend.

Sandro Ramirez needs to be considered also. mainly due to his original potential and the wages we gave him.

David Burrows was a poor signing too. Giving up Tony Cottee was the bad bit. He ws always going to get 12-18 league goals a season. David Burrows was a poor player also. I think it was done to a degree to finance the Daniel Amokachi deal (who shouldn't be on this list but was an expensive mistake overall(

The weird thing about Angell is Kendall originally signed him on loan in his last season second time around (He was on the bench for the 2-0 Derby where Mark Ward scored) never played and was not signed then later in the season Mike Walker rocks up and signs him instead.

Based on what we have spent on him, it is siggurdsson. £45m transfer fee then £5.2m a year in wages and we will never get anyone to buy him, we will probably have to let him go on a free and pay him a load of cash to go. He was a good player at Swansea, but we never should have paid more than about £30m for him. He's contracted till 2022, he has had talks with the MLS, but probably won't go till next summer.

Bolasie is a close 2nd because again its a high fee, £26m fee and £3.9m a year in wages. looking at his stats at Palace, no one else would have paid that. Bolasie will go for nothing when his contract is up in the summer. Best we can hope for is that someone comes to loan him in January and pays part of his wage till the summer

Every club has terrible transfers, we must be biggest team in the premier never to watch a world class player in their prime.

Ronald koeman signed both.
For that reason he should be listed aswell.

Bolasie or Sigurdsson.

Probably just Bolasie though - to pay £25m and get 32 games out of him in 5 seasons is shocking. Works out at around £12k per minute on the field.. in transfer fees alone! Add to that he's leaving on a free and it really represents the worst business this club has ever made.
