Unquestionably Gylfi. For the transfer fee, wages, effort/involvement levels and overall suitability to the Premier League (totally unathletic) it really was a dismal signing.
The only one close would be Klaasen if we hadn't have nipped it in the bud and got rid quick.
Oumar and Sandro where garbage, but the fees paid and wages paled in comparison to Gylfi.

Was it Nyarko who one of our fans tried to swap shirts with on the pitch in the middle of a game? I can't remember that much of him but think he was pretty bad most of the time. Whether or not he was our worst ever signing might be pushing it but he was certainly underwhelming.

I was there. The fella who went onto the pitch was a few rows from me.
Strolled around the pitch. Scott gemmill was on his own in the middle of the park that day.

Went for B-O Wombrot. It's not fair that he made it as a professional footballer.

Woeful end product, emblem of the Fat Sam era, £20m fee and £100k a week. When we signed him my stomach sank

Yuck

It's Bolasie. Was flabbergasted at the fee at the time only for him to turn to be even worse than I feared. Praised for a "good attitude" when he knows he has got absolutely no chance of being involved under Ancelotti but doesn't want to move regardless.

Tosun gets off lightly in these polls. And Sandro is spared by coming on a "free"

It's a very competitive field, but I've had to go with Bolasie.

He wasn't even one of the best players at Crystal Palace, and Everton were in relegation form before injury took him out of the team.

Sigurdsson and Iwobi are probably the strongest contenders, as at least the rest of them eventually had the decency to leave.

All clubs make bad signings and then move them on. It just seems that our record must be second to none with the sheer number of players who have proved a complete waste of space.
