Just got back from the game. We held our own for 90 mins, probably had the better chances. A bit of a crap game to watch, referee and his officials were absolutely horrendous. Thought the atmosphere was very flat. A good point won.
Did you manage to met Dan and/or his lad Ryan?

Or at the very least give them a warm Toffee welcome by blowing some kisses and throwing some sexy glances in their direction?

….you can only play the hand you’re dealt and maybe we’d be like Ipswich and Soton if we were more expansive, who knows.

Chelsea must have hated that and good on that defensive organisation and commitment to thwart genuine attacking quality. We could have nicked it had Harrison not spurned an easy chance, symptomatic of our lack of quality in attacking areas. All in all I was content to see only 2 mins injury time and hear the final whistle.

Young terrific in the first half, hardly gave Sancho an inch but that changed in the 2nd and he had to get hooked when he did. The middle three worked so hard, but I thought the 2 CBs were combative and secure against genuine talent. Branthwaite maybe had his best game of the season and earns my MOM vote.
I haven't seen two minutes injury time signalled at full time in years. Couldn't believe that, I wasn't complaining either. Perhaps a benefit of Pickford getting a booking early on he couldn't time waste in the second half. Hate when he does that.

It is a good result and a good performance. Chelsea didn't offer a lot to be honest. Their wide players played into our hands by cutting inside and I thought we were busy in the middle of the pitch to frustrate them enough to win the ball back. Was pleased with some of the chances we created and you can see where we need that little bit of quality.

Good point gained today. It wasn't pretty but it was what it needed to be and I came away from Goodison satisfied with the effort the lads made.
Same thoughts as me, although we could have done better with the goalmouth scramble chances. My first game in many a year, forgotten the buzz you get by going to a live game, even with a 0-0.
