problem with that is that he looks a totally different player than the one last season despite us having a better quality first team he should be netting much more than what he is doing.

I'm convinced it's because of our reliance on Fellaini. When Jelavic first arrived he was playing off Cahill and Fellaini was deeper.

We've forgotten how to work a ball in behind a defence. Instead, we're playing the hopeful diagonals to Fellaini.

Fellaini is a square peg in a round hole.

Moyes v Laudrup

Laudrup beat Moyes up tactically today.

They where disciplined, kept good shape, played the clock, closed us down in 2s & 3s and we never really looked like scoring.

Couple that with a few poor performances, Swansea will say job well done.Obviously came for the point and hoped of grabing a goal.

The most frustrating thing is we never had anything to unlock them. The bench was very poor. It just shows if key players have off days or are out injured we havent got a good enough squad.

Tactically you have to say Laudrup was spot on, without looking good they made us look average.

Very frustrating

With great difficulty.

I know what you're saying and its frustrating but i think we just have to accept today as a point and see it for what it is, 2 points loss but while we didn't gain ground we didn't really lose ground.

If we'd have been gash, or played too defensively or been robbed it would be more frustrating but we pretty much tried everything we could today to score but just weren't good enough on the day.

im the opposite mate I would rather we lose playing poor to a better team on the day than play as well as we did but cant finish imagine the scoreline had jelavic been the player he was last season.

Agreed

Lad looks like hes lost his mojo

Been saying it will come good all season but we are now in Jan and he still doesnt look like hitting the form of last season

You need a 15 goal + striker to get top 4 imo

[QUOE=electricblue;1679988]Considering Spurs dropped 2 points as well, West Brom lost, and Arsenal have a difficult game tomorrow it's not THAT bad a weekend.

We never take advantage in the league when the opportunity is there.[/QUOTE]

Exactly. When we have tough games tho the others will take advantage and win there easy games that particular weekend. We never take advantage when we need to. We won't get 4th because of this.

We lost control of the midfield when Neville went off believe it or not, he might be as fast as a training cone and tackle like one but he's our training cone, and I'd rather him than Naismith.

No mate, our midfield was non existant for pretty much the whole game. There was one point when Neville left his position to chase down the ball when Vorm had it comfortably, leaving a massive gap in our midfield that Swansea played through.

He offers nothing going forward and does the most basic thing every time in the centre.

Still think he'll come good again. Just needs a break or two in front of goal and he'll be off again. I personally don't think he's had the same service as last season either.

Just like Moyes has done to other teams many times during his tenure.

Well you could argue the opposite when we played at theirs.

We ripped them apart that day, admittedly with a few scares, but we ripped their undies off and humped them into next week.

Moyes annihilated Laudrup with tactics that day.

In points terms its:
Moyes 4 Laudrup 1 this season.

If Laudrup had drilled it into his players to clear it off the line twice & force us into scuffing great chanes then props to him but no, both teams were great and it's just easier to praise a tactically great defence to a tactically great attack.

You could say we tactically kept Swansea at bay all game.

Tactically I couldn't agree more. To watch, not pretty!!!

Today aye they weren't too pretty to watch but that's because we were all over them so they tightened up. If this was Rodgers' Swansea they would have lost that. Every Swansea player on that park knew their job and worked hard, it was like watching a Moyes team. If teams give them space and allow them on the front foot they've got some good players who can hurt.
