Maybe Moist should have made a cheeky sub and brought on Kennedy so that the rightwing wasn't completely void of attacking threat (bar coleman). Seems to be no Plan B if the opposition susses the left side out (which is happening a lot) by doubling up and not letting Baines or Pienaar any space.

i think we are going to have more results like this over the coming months....in all reality its amazing( and blessed) how we are so close to 3rd with the squad we have( whether you like it or not credit has to be given to DM / players) because when we have some guys off form / injured we are mundane at best..... take yesterday as a fine example Swansea did to u what we have done to so many teams over the yrs( gritted out a result) so we look to the bench for inspiration

SUB 1 - Naismith .....if hes your 1st port of call for that "magic spark" all i can say then is OMFG
SUB 2 - Vellios......in fairness 8 mins isnt a lot of time for anyone but the fact that he spent most of that time in our half "helping out" is CLEARLY not part of his game

but theres plenty more swings and aroundabouts left in this season yet lads

tbf moyes has been very good this season, but still not great. At HT, he surely should have noticed swansea's plan and took neville off for oviedo - put him on the right and pushed anichebe up front with felli in centre mid. these things should be done from the start against these sort of teams at home because it's more likely they are going to come for the point instead of all 3 - moyes just seems to lack that know-how sometimes

Laudrup beat Moyes up tactically today.

They where disciplined, kept good shape, played the clock, closed us down in 2s & 3s and we never really looked like scoring.

Couple that with a few poor performances, Swansea will say job well done.Obviously came for the point and hoped of grabing a goal.

The most frustrating thing is we never had anything to unlock them. The bench was very poor. It just shows if key players have off days or are out injured we havent got a good enough squad.

Tactically you have to say Laudrup was spot on, without looking good they made us look average.

Very frustrating

haha it was a draw, at the most they were even. Everton absolutely dominated them left right and centre, only thing we didn't do was score, thanks to bad luck, bad finishing, good defending, good goal line clearances and some good goalkeeping.
We looked far from average we owned them all game bar 1 shot of note. Laudrup got lucky, nothing more but to say he out tacticed us is hilarious.

Vorm's a right snidey **** but a class keeper.

Also Anichebe on the wing is hilarious. He would make a point on standing there every time Vorm had a goal kick and then completely drifted into the middle and never came within twenty yards of the wing again until Vorm had another one.

Poor old Coleman was the only everton player on the right half of the field for a good 80% of the game.

We essentially played 5-2-3 with Osman and Pienaar being a two man midfield while Fellaini and Vic tried to be strikers and Nev acted like a third CB. As bad as Naismith is you can totally understand why Moyes wanted him on. It would just be nice if we had a better option to take the right wing spot. A young english midfielder for instance.

Liverpool lost.

If City beat Arsenal then this isn't too bad...

We need Mirallas back.

Whenever we fail to win it seems like our rivals do the same too. It's positive that we're not getting any further away but we could really do with taking advantage of other teams' slip ups.

Chelsea had a successful day.
Spurs drew with QPR.
Arsenal look like losing and Koscielny could miss games against Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool.
West Brom got beat.
Liverpool were beaten.
Swansea drew.
Stoke lost.
West Ham were hammered.

So, out of our main rivals, only Chelsea could better our result.

Could give a feck about half that list, tbf, Billy. The RS and the three london clubs are the only ones we need to worry about.

Swansea only a point behind the RS and Stoke are 2 points behind. If we keep drawing games they could close the gap quite quickly.

But thats 7 and 9 points behind us. And they won't close the gap because they're not good enough to go on the kind of run you need to to gain 9 points on a decent side. They're 9 points behind us precisely because they haven't done that.

If the RS were anyone else, I wouldn't worry about their results either.

We've still got to go to Old Trafford, the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and White Hart Lane though. It would be surprising if they caught us but Swansea in particular could be boosted by their cup form.

liverpool need to go to emirates and etihad still, not forgetting they haven't actually beaten one team above them in the league. they've had a few easy games in the last two months and have made ground, they'll slip back down the table soon enough i think, not worried about them. only spurs and arsenal - chelsea will go on a run between now and the end of the season
