I think Donovan and Drenthe would benefit from Ossie being a playmaker in between them, but as Cahill scored I guess he'll be benched / playing wide. Why Anichebe started on the left wing was a mystery for me. Play him in a central role or maybe in a desperate emergency play him on the right. I thought Moyes' plan was to change him to CF and sub Saha at some point but I don't think Vic is useful after 60 mins so that was a silly idea as a whole. Stracq gave us urgency again. Duffy was solid. Baines was rather good. Felli not so and almost gifted a goal. Timmy did ok and scored. Heitinga was rather good.

Moyes needs to start a team that puts a shift in from the start and thus never ever ever ever ever have Timmy and Louis on the pitch simultaniously.

Honestly, aside from what I mentioned earlier in this thread I think we would have been better off starting Drenthe and playing Big Vic up front.

Does anyone know why he didn't start today? Was he carrying a knock?

I think he's better as a sub. He goes missing in the latter stages of games and is better when running at tired defences. He started against Villa and was crap.

Because we have a clueless manager who is dragging this club down. Half empty stadium soon.

Vic's best games have all come from the wings. He gets space and can cut inside. He just runs and barges past people when he wants.

Up front, he's clueless. He's not an intelligent striker, when he wants to he just uses his strength. His best game up front was against Citeh at home last season where all he did was bully their back and nothing else.

He's not very good no matter what odd goal he scores. He's still a bencher and not a 1st team starter.

So err... just got in from that. **** performance from everyone bar Duffy. As bad as things are, I can't think how I would have gone about things drastically different to how Moyes did. On the matter of Saha and strikers, we literally don't have any above low quality championship level. I include Cahill in that bracket. Saha is class but is lazy and can't run for various reasons. Saha = **** at present, Straq = the worst player in this entire squad (and probably the reserves), Vellios, in my opinion is just a very nice looking, well polished turd. At least Straq tries and gets involved and makes mistakes because he's ****e. Vellios, when given game time doesn't contribute any more than Saha does. I was quite excited about him at one point but I must say I'm sceptical now.

I'd have liked to see Drenthe from the start. To be fair though, he's looked knackered after an hour when he's started and for all his quality, can make costly errors. To be fair to Moyes though he did change it early and took Anichebe off the wing and put Drenthe on. On the right as well which was good. Gibson was poor. He needs a few more games though before I'll judge him as an acquisition. I thought it was criminal how the players might as well have been deliberately not passing to Drenthe for the first 15 mins on the pitch. As soon as they do, top class wing play and a great ball zipped across the 6 yard box. FUME.

Let's hope for a miracle in the FA cup and that 40 point is reached sooner rather than later. This season is a total write-off.

I'm trying to think of something positive, other than Duffy like. Nope.

Hang on, I'm also pleased Cahill got the monkey off his back with that goal. We need his desperately to find some form with the predicament that were presently in.

Velios a turd? please.

Moyes: "We were fortunate to get a point. We needed our better players to pull it up and make something happen for us."

Wonder who these "better" players are in his head? Hmmmmmm

I am usually a glass half full type of person when it comes to the blues but f****** hell *you would have to have a glass half full of LSD to see anything positive about us this season!

He goes down too easy for wing play for my liking and never advances as a result (and also he doesn't get properly fauled, he just falls on himself and then grabs the ball in his arms to force a free kick). I did miss the Villa game where he scored. Was he on the wing for that game?
