who'd WANT to replace him
Just saw MOTD. Moyes looked like a man who had given up in the MOTD interview.. Time to move on methinks, but who will replace him?
If Rodwell, Fellaini, Barkley or Baines ends their career here I'll eat my hat.
And I don't really see what a team not being able to afford or meet the asking price of a player has to do with them wanting them or them not being good enough. Evidently Arsenal wanted Jags but didn't value him above £10m. Yes that means they don't value him as much as we do, but they still wanted him and thought he was good enough. The assertion contrary to that is what I am disagreeing with.
Baines
Distin
Jagielka
Osman
Rodwell
Barkley
Fellaini
Drenthe
You're half right but I think outside of the top 7 or 8 most teams would envy that selection of quality.
They thought he was good enough... but still not worth it. Arteta and Pienaar were worth it apparently.
I know what you mean, clearly the situations of the buying and selling clubs have an effect, I just think if any of the top clubs really wanted our players, they would go. Rooney, Lescott, Pienaar, Arteta - United, City, Spurs, Arsenal. Pretty much the only players that Moyes hasn't really wanted to sell and they happen to be the only ones that have gone to clubs above us.
It's like that and that's the way it is. As you say we'll have to see what happens in the future.
Howard- Redknapp chose to make Friedel his number 1, so I don't see why quite a few teams wouldn't want the current USA 'keeper.
Coleman- He'd easily get in Villa or Newcastle's side.
Heitinga- One of the top 4 centrebacks in the world! ffs
Gibson- Valued by Sunderland at £5m last year.
Bily- Would do well at somewhere like Arsenal.
Donovan- Still counts.
Cahill- I'm sure the more direct sides like Stoke and Bolton would love to have him, probably Fulham too.
Gueye- Martinez would be happy to have him.
Barkley- Who wouldn't want him?
Neville- Could still interest Harry.
Vellios- Would probably do very well for everyone from Stoke down the table.
Anichebe- Probably suited to Villa or Wigan.
Duffy- Could do well for a lot of sides too.
If we got relegated and had to have a fire sale other teams would feast on our squad.
Brownz, in opening last paragraph was you picturing adidas trainers without laces in? DMC.
You said they'd 'love' to take their pick from our squad. Most of that is just your personal appraisals of players.
I've already said there's no doubt loads of teams would like to sign some of our players because they're better than what they've got. It's just that hardly any of them would go down as an amazing signing, in my opinion. Maybe that's not what you meant and I'm being picky, but it's easy to make players out to be better than they are. I do it all the time.
The players that have gone are the ones that have wanted to go. Jags and Baines are happy in the area and with the club. They would need to be pushed out the door. The younger lads like Rodwell and Barkley seem to have faith in Moyes. I was kind of surprised that Fellaini signed a new contract. I imagine that he must be getting to the stage where he wants to sample Champions League football. Perhaps promises were made that he could go if a decent offer came in?
We've got plenty of handy players who could become key men if they were to move to Fulham, Sunderland, Stoke or Norwich, for example. When Moyes first came to the club he had everyone playing at 100% capacity and we over-achieved. These days it feels like the team are playing well within themselves and that very few are giving anywhere near their full potential. Someone like Paul Lambert or Owen Coyle would 'love' to be able to call on even our fringe players like Bily, Gueye and Vellios.
For me it was the guy with the afro wig that does some nice glides across the floor.
Check this out Wukukuuakuku
Thatll defo be it. I think they probably didnt tip toe around it either.
Sign a contract so well get a good fee for you, liege will get a good sell on fee, and we wont stop you.
Not for me, we'll have to agree to agree.
