Adebayor is a tricky one. When he is on form , like he was in teh first few games of the season, he is unplayable, infact an onform Adebayor is as good as any striker in the League and possibly Europe.
However, he very rarely performs to his capabilities and since the incident with Van Persie he has been incredibly average and a shadow of the player that he was at the start of the season.

On another note, I think Donovan will be a very shrewd buy fo you. He was very impressive against Arsenal.

I would've been after Adebayor with a cleaver after seeing him in a Arsenal shirt the other day.

If I saw something Cahill wearing a Liverpool training top, I would be livid.(y)

someone said "I wouldn't have any City players in our squad"
I don't mean to be biased but are you really saying not a single of our players would get in your team?
I think that was all started by a Citeh fan who said they wouldnt have anyone from Everton but Arteta....who would be a fringe player for em.
No chance, Arteta would walk into our team and infact most teams in the league. Cahill would aswell. I'm not sure how good Baines is but I don't rate Bridge. Jagielka would certainly be challenging for a first team place. So would Yakubu.

What do you reckon to your chances of fourth, mate?

Personally I think you're the club to watch. If Rafael stays, I can't see Liverpool getting it. Villa are just not up to scratch, and Arthur Daly FC aren't exactly consistent.

I'm gutted that the season we have been so bad, fourth looks wide open.

It will be very tough that's for sure. Despite everything, you can never count Liverpool out and it would not surprise me if they ended up nabbing fourth place.

I think we have a good chance of getting fourth but since it's City we are talking about, I always expect us to balls things up!
We certainly have the players to do so and with Mancini it looks like we have a good manager who knows what he is doing.
So far Mancini has been very good but we have played four games, three against lower half teams and one against a lower league team so I will be able to answer you about our top four credentials after the game this weekend. If we can go to Goodison and win, I will really start believing we can finish in the top four this season.

Liverpool are in trouble, mate. There's something not right there. Did you see how little passion there was when Gerrard scored last night? None of them seemed even bothered. And although in defence they looked okay, going forward they were awful. I reckon the dressing room is a very dark place at the moment (let's blame Steevie G).

I'm not really bothered who gets fourth, but good luck to you. I wish it was us up there.

This game should be a cracker. Both of us are in form and I can see it going either way.

I'll tip a 2-1 victory to Everton (for obvious reasons).

Liverpool without Gerrard and Torres are no better than the likes of Sunderland and Birmingham. That is serious as well. Last night, they were average, absolutely average and to be honest they were outplayed and deservedly beaten by a Championship team in the relegation zone at home. The funny thing, is if anything Reading should have won more comfortably, they missed some great chances.

However I just can't count Liverpool out as they always seem to come back from these situations.

Also the annoying thing about City is if we hadn't let leads slip going in to the last ten minutes against Burnley, Hull and Fulham at home, we would be one point off the top of the league!

I predict 1-1 on Saturday, both sides are good going forward but look vulnerable at the back.

The reason why I think you should get it is you're hardly ever beaten. The problem was all those draws under Hughes. If Mancini turns these into wins, you're pretty much there.

And you're right, we can't rule out Liverpool yet. But hopefully Rafael will continue to drive them into the ground.

Rafael is 1 dodgy draw or 1 defeat away from the sack, he must be, no matter how much compo they have to pay. It depends how the new boy does.

City are a good side, hard to beat, but when things arent going for them, they are weak, they have no heart, no fight. We will want it more, the Goodison roar will drive us to victory.

That's why I think Vieira will be a very good signing.
Imagine if we are leading by a goal at Old Trafford in a couple of weeks by a goal. Who better to see the game out than an experienced head? He has played at the very top and will add calmness to the team.

A top half finish for us looks to be the target after the start he had, Europe would be great.

After that I look forward to seeing the red Shoit's demise, and if that means City beat them to 4th, so be it. I'd much prefer to see Villa or Spurs beat City to 4th as its frustrating to see another team buying their way up the league, but as long as them lot over there dont get it I'm not really bothered.

Who do we have available at Centre half for Staurday? Is Rodders fit again? Distin? Hibbert? Looks like heitinga and some pr!ck who's mind will be elsewhere. I really hope Neill's mind is on the game on Saturday as we need to be tight at the back, if he's thinking of his move he'd be best f**king off now.

totally agree. without gerrard and torres, they would be in the championship.

I would be happy if City finish above Liverpool. The modest, humble, real city fans out there like some of my extended family deserve a break and a bit of good fortune. which is always nice to see for real supporters, I was made up for the Reading fans last night. not the ones who left early though.....

One thing I can't understand is the negative attitude of other teams to our takeover.

Claims that we are 'buying the league' and 'ruining football' are far from the truth.

Money has ruled football long before our takeover. Even long before Abramovich, money had taken over football.

Man City have produced 28 academy graduates who have played in the Premier League which is more than any other team.
Secondly, three of our academy graduates are still very much in our first team, Stephen Ireland, Micah Richards and Shaun Wright Phillips.
Also, Nedum Onuoha plays a fair bit and Vladimir Weiss appears to breaking into the first team and Micheal Johnson plays when he is fit. Even Dedryk Boyata has played so far under Mancini.
Our best players Bellamy and Ireland are British/ Irish as are many of our team.

Its more of the case of the belters supporting the club giving it the big time charlie on the evidence the club can barge in and try and buy anyone they want.

The worry you've got for the club is now going from a traditional club with a working mens sensiblility to another Chelsea x 20, mugging every other team off in the quest for Champions League..even Hughes was subject to the "backroom knife in the back". Going from nothing to "we can win every throphy and everyone else is inferior" in the space of 2 years is a subtle as a brick to the face.

Do you really see your academy being as prolific over the years? I seriously doubt it. Which is a shame.

.

i suppose you've got to look at eveybody's attitude towards chelsea after their takeover, maybe too many city fans are taking it personally, had another club, even us, been in your position I would expect the same sort of backlash, as technically you are buying your way up the league. Disputing that is like saying you would finish in the top four with players from the youth academy.

Money has and is ruining football, City are the victims of an offer they could not refuse. So its not your fault.

Bottom line is, You have bought players who are making the difference, without this cash or these players, nothing would of changed, and you would have lost more than 2 games.

When City were bought out I was desperate to see them break the Sky 4 belief and really tip the league upside down, but after the Hughes arrogance thinking the club had his back, and the Lescott affair, many neutrals who were gunning for City, are now waiting for their demise....

So far, from what I have seen from Mancini, I do.
In each game so far he has placed at least two academy youngsters on the bench and most City fans had not even heard of them before.
He gave Boyata and Weiss a full game in the Fa Cup and is slowly bringing them into the squad.

I firmly believe, if you are good enough, you will be given your chance.
