Its called rivalry. No question we have been second fiddle to United for a long time, but that tide is turning. I would have thought someone supporting a team in the shadow of Liverpool for decades would have understood such rivalry...

Answer my question, would you or would you not, be happy to have 200million spent on players for everton? i.e. took over by billionaires?

In a word NO and I don't really care if anyone (Everton or City fan) believes me in saying that. Not that I would mind investment, but City's owners are just taking the piss. Hate that part of modern football big time. Much rather keep our own identity than selling off your soul.

That's the way I look at it and no one will make me think any different about it.

of course, moron, who bloody wouldn't. However in reality that's not going to happen anytime soon and my point is what your only just managing to acheive now with your Shiekh in charge is what Everton have been doing for years whilst in a heap of debt. You have become a soul-less football club, you have players that don't want to be there. Look at Bellamy, been there for 5 mins and theres already rumours of him joining Spurs and Ronald Macdonald looks about as happy at Shitteh as a cow in a slaughterhouse. You got rid of Hughes after he turned your club round from a laughing stock to well...a little bit less of a laughing stock and got you to your first semi final in frig knows how long but your lot are just happy to watch him go and be replaced by some fella with a gay scarf who looks like he should be on a Loreal advert. You are a soul-less bunch of deluded football fans.

Exactly, Nice One Dutch

Not really no. I'd be very concerned how we are going to pay it back, as somewhere along the line the investors want their cash back - doubled.

Investing in football is like investing in the stock market, your value changes on a week to week basis.

If stock is not earning cash, a lot of the time investors cut their losses and sell up, and dissapear.

Doesn't that worry you??

Football clubs are stock market gambles....not businesses you can set on-field performance targets too.

I know your probably on cloud 9 rubbing it in the manures face, but be prepared for a fall.

I would like to see City make 4th if we can't, but be careful not to get too caught up in the hype. egg on your face is not cool. especially not to your rivals. you will never live it down.

peace.(y)

oh yeah, sorry i ask every non evertonian this....

Why did you join the forum. what did you expect?

I would never sign up to any other clubs forum unless it was to extract important information. I'd feel dirty.

bye for now!!

Wait, which one is it then? Now who is the hypocrite?

Anyone who says no to my previous question, truly doesnt want success for their club. Whether or not money is ruining football, is a completely different subject, but whether you like it or not, thats the way football is and has been for a while. The gap between the top 8 is closing, and the gap between the rest is widening, unfortunately you are in that bottom half and will remain there or worse unless you make some changes.

The irony of this thread is that we are both blues who have been on the shadow of reds for years, and if you lot had one chance to finish higher than liverpool and that meant the apparent selling of your 'soul' im pretty sure the masses would! I would love to see Everton competing at a higher level and doing better than Liverpool, as im sure you would...Im bemused by this resentment...

The only thing I can assume is it's because you're new to the forum and don't speak for the masses...I hope not anyway, as your apparent lack of intelligence is tainting the forum.

Anyway, good luck for weekend, you'll need it...:P

This coming from a team that we're in division 3 not long back and have gone through 17 managers in as many years?

When did Citeh become "top 8 elite" they only got into Europe the season before through the fair play league hahaha

I think you'll find we've already finished above Liverpool in Premier League before mate. Of course..If you know your history you'd be aware of that before bleeting more deluded Manc [Poor language removed]

Bobby - let me point you in the direction of this thread...

http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/everton-forum/25218-thing-we-dare-not-speak.html

We're gonna win the league next year without a billionaire so ner ner n ner ner :)

Back to this weekend - the form we're in this will be easy pickings. City will come back down to earth with a big bump come Saturday night. All seemingly bright and rosy since Bobby turned up, but you've played some pretty gash teams so far. And away from home, your also gash so this will be one big test of your credentials, if you pull it off, fair play. I've been pretty unbiased in my predictions this season (even had money on BATE to beat us ) but I do actually think we'll win this.

2-1 Everton, good luck

So, just because you're above in the ranking THIS season, you're one of the clubs closing the gap? Get serious, we did very well in previous seasons and the single reason we're not in the top eight THIS season,is down to a ceippling injury list. Any team in the world would suffer from having 11 players out injured.

Do agree you need money to compete in modern football, just how much is open for debate. I wouldn't mind becoming a 2nd Villa, but would hate to become another Chelsea or City. I desperately want success, just not at any cause.

Any football club would happily love to spend £200 million on class players, any football fan would love to see that money being spent at their club but not at the expense of turning their team into a souless sham of a club with a bunch of overpaid, oversexed, uninterested morons playing for them. Like Dutch said, I'd like to see Everton have the kind of money available at Villa and Spurs and keep our integrity and have players at the club who want to be there, than become another Shitteh were so much money has been stuffed down the throats of the club that in a few years if success doesn't arrive (which let's be honest, it's not going to happen at City, other than a run in Europe and maybe an FA Cup at most) the owners will try and bail out and leave the club in dire straits.

Lescott = £23million:lol::lol::lol:

I guess only time will tell...

As far as you winning the league next year? If you finish higher than 7th next year, ill get an everton tattoo on my arse...:P

Barrell, I officially give up with you, and I get the impression it isn't the the first time...(y)

See you Saturday boys...b)

its a date(y)id be only happy to help

Oh and as for the Shitteh as a Top 8 dominant football club. Seriously, don't make me laugh, you were knocked out of both domestic cups by lower league sides last season Forrest and BRIGHTON and we're only granted European Football through a fair play award. It's taken you 20+ years to get to a semi final of a cup, and least we forget not much more than 10 years ago you we're playing in the 3rd Tier of English football and you only got out of there by playing Gillingham in a play off final rather than winning that league.
