If it puts us on a run of wins. I don't give a feck how we win and who against.

In 2009 we beat Macclesfield away 1-0. People moaned. Look what happened then.

We just need to win. And keep fecking winning.

Trademarked.

Only problem with that is we have Spurs away next.

And who knows in the cup.

Either way winning is helped by good performances, thats why poor performances are criticised when they happen with the regularity they do.

Today was a potential banana skin so yeah i'm glad we won.

But it just highlights a lot of problems with the team at the moment that a team of professionals and internationals still can't score in open play against a non league team.

Goals from open play will come. The key is to score by any way possible regardless. To win games.

The key is who Moyes will be allowed to finally bring in, you know as replacements for Arteta, Pienaar, Yakubu, Beckford etc.

My feelings exactly.

Its not so much effort and playing at full tempo, its the tactics and what we do with the ball when we have it.

How can other teams with inferior players to us score more goals?

Oh I don't disagree, it's just that everyone was poo today. And we have another game in a few days. Moyes has limited options due to injuries, and we're playing Spurs, not QPR.

You mean you're expecting some quality signings? Highly unlikely imo, i can't see any substantial funds being released. Maybe we will get Pienaar back on loan. I doubt that we'll actually sign anybody of real quality.

They haven't got Neville at Quarter Back. They don't have Osman as wide receiver and they don't pull everyone back for a first down and ten to the opposition. Ok, that last one they do but because they have to.

GO LIONS!

GO LIONS!

GO LIONS!

(Seriously, if you guys could pull one out for the Niners, that would be great. I don't want to meet Brees next week.)

What?

I didn't start it.

Let's hope the TTAB send you to Guantanamo for a vacation.

Its not simply a problem with the players. We struggled to score at the start of last season with those players in the squad (all be it not always playing).

Today was more goals from defenders and set pieces. Against a non league team.

Are the midfield and forward line we had today really that bad they can't score against a non league team?

Really?

Of course not. The problem then lies within the tactics, formations and style of play we utilise.

Better players will help but its not the only solution. If we played more creative, intelligent, different football in the final 3rd we may well see our goal return increase. And that can be achieved from better players and better tactics.

I believe there was a comment on the radio today along the lines of "qith the players Everton have their movement should be too much for Tamworth to compete with, and apart from that one good bit of play just now it hasn't been good enough".

Its like buying a Ford Escort ghia and then taking it up to 9000 rpm before changing out of gear. You've got a decent enough car, might not be a Porsche 911 but its more than capable if you drive it properly. Instead of crawling along at 26 mph in a 40 zone then slamming your brakes on at the last minute every time.

We need to use what we have better until we can improve on what we do have.
