I've just read Tubey's match report. The general theme I got is that Tubey wants me to slit my wrists...

And to think we won the game... ?!?

FFS.
NSNO in the long term dude. There's only so many 'a win is a win' games one can witness before one's concerned about what may happen in the near future. Do you buy into the belief that we necessarily finish the season strongly Matt?

An uninspiring win by the sounds of it , in the next round though thankfully , either going to have to improve greatly or get lucky with the draw to get a decent run this year .

Whens the 4th round draw made ?

It points to there being something more seriously wrong than just picking a more attacking-looking team..

I think lack of movement has a lot to do with it. Forwards don't look for give and go's or through balls, fullbacks don't overlap as often as other teams do, midfielders don't drive forward with the ball and, as a team, we stand still once we've passed it rather than looking to get into space. The man on the ball generally has very few options and we play at a walking pace. That is down to the manager and his coaches.

You beat whats in front of you that is what matters. Macclesfield away 2009, was hardly awe inspiring. Thats the FA Cup.

The key thing is to win the game.

No, it's not. Performances are important too, as it indicates your ability to win games.

The performance was diabolical and it bodes badly for the rest of the season.

The side and performance were not good enough.

My word not enough? Here's a quote from your hero Moyes.

“I have to praise the players’ attitudes,â€￾ he added. “We didn’t play particularly well but we kept at it and their attitudes were right.â€￾

We just scraped past Tamworth while playing absolutely turgid football.

Feels like a loss to me.

Utter bollocks.

Some are trying deliberately to talk us into losing games. On that I have no doubt.

Its always harder to stroke the ball about and play the passing game when some are just intent on either criticising or moaning.

You always must beat whats in front of you. Performances come from confidence.

Thats not to let the board off the hook. We need some additional players. Replacements for the ones they sold in the summer etc.

I seriously don't know what Damon wanted me to write?

"Everton Show Character To Overcome Resilient Tamworth"?

Well, sorry, that was a Conference side FFS. Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade - we were dogturd.

"Everton through to the next round and seek to improve their play and lose the ball far less wastefully, and close down more and look for those killer balls."

Would just about cover it.

Like I said earlier. Only Evertonians can moan about winning a game...

We've just struggled past Tamworth, a semi-professional conference side! Bristol Rovers would expect to win by two or three, nevermind Everton.

It was a bad performance, period! We didn't look like losing at any point but we didn't score from open play against a terrible Conference side.

Tamworth who've spent more money for a semi-professional outfit than any club in history.

I don't care. Provided we won. And we then build from there for the next game and the next round.
