Anyone else listening to the commentary on the OS last night get onto the fact that Snods wouldn't pick a MOTM? Apparently we were THAT bad...

Donovan was man of the match yesterday in my opinion, didn't do much wrong and created our goal with a great corner, also had a boss shot near the end that hit the bar from 25 yards out.

From Arteta's Girl on Big Soccer (and occasionally here, though we don't see her as often anymore). She posted this for the Americans on BS, so forgive the emphasis on LD. But I'm posting here anyway as she has some good insights on the game that I underlined since she was physically there, kudos to her for posting. Her opinion of course, but it's detailed, so thought it was relevant: .....

That's a great match report, a pity she doesn't contribute on here more often.

After watching that, it looks like we weren't even that bad you know. Scored 2 goals, albeit set pieces - but it wasn't like we didn't create any free flowing chances? Didn't look like we were giving 100% either which is understandle seeing as we have tottenham soon,

we were playing a conference side ffs

Love Everton, hate watching us atm, sh1te performance again but we won. Still doesnt bode well for Spurs and beyind though

I'm assuming it was the other minutes, cause yeah, we don't look that bad in that video either. Huh. Though only 2 minutes of highlights is indicative.

My favorite shot: David Moyes looking like he's going to have a migraine about halfway through.

I don't quite know what you're on about with cherry picking because this post of yours above actually backs up the point i've been making.

damon keeps referring back to Arteta and Pienaar when people raise the issue of us having trouble to score, as if they are some magic wand which would make us instantly score loads and take away all the troubles we have in our squad at the moment.

I was just showing that even with them in the team we struggled and in the same way as to what we are now.

Losing players never helps but it isn't the sole reason. Our problems go beyond simply the personel we have or don't have.

How's Yakubu doing lately?

Are you inferring that he wouldn't be scoring at all if he was still with Everton?

You'd be part right if you were only because Moyes refused to play him with regularity.

Valid points to be made with regard to our season as whole. We played some pretty stuff when we had Pienaar and Arteta in the side, even if we couldn't score, and I'm sure Yakubu, if played, would have helped with with goals.

But talking about THIS match, THIS opponent... it's Tamworth, FFS. None of their players would get into our side, our reserve players are all of better quality (I would hope) than a semi-professional outfit.

Edit: But reading several of the above posts, I suppose it would make sense that the players are saving their energy for the match against Tottenham.
