Everton 2-0 West Brom
_65608474_baines.jpg

Everton manager David Moyes will be delighted with Leighton Baines, but he might be worried that the left-back's first-half brace against West Brom could tempt other managers into a last-minute bid for the England international. Can Baines complete his hat-trick?

They really are RS aren't they?

I saw that and thought the same.

Nincompoops.

You can thank me for that peno lads.

haha

You're right mate. Thank him for our 2nd goal. By the way, we hit the post the 18th time in the league today.

yeah, apparently the RS would have won the league last year were it not for a similar thing. we just get on with it though and don't bemoan our luck. it's unlucky but that's all it is, goals have always been the same size

Pretty comfortable (touch wood).

I think we looked balanced apart from Neville who is pretty useless in the midfield.

Pienaar needs to step up more and get involved. Seems to be grafting but then when it comes to creating, he's just missing that zip.

Mirallas is everywhere which is causing them problems. Its good seeing him, Pienaar and Osman alternate as its throwing them off, giving Baines plenty of room to get round the back.

Hopefully no sloppiness will kick in.

I'd send Hitz out at some point for Neville to offer more legs in the later stages and Jelavic to give a bit of finesse up front to latch on to something.

We'll be under the cosh this 2nd half I think. Need some calm heads. 3rd goal will kill it.
Agree with everything you say but with no RB on the bench Neville won't get subbed off. He's the only cover for that position.

I'd love to see two more goals before the 60th minute, allowing two subs (Oviedo for Baines being one of them: I think he's played every minute of every game since late October, bar the subbing at Cheltenham) to get significant time.

Why are our players (namely Heitinga and Distin) just smashing it forward at every opportunity?

Along with Neville's constant passing back to defence, it's making us woeful to watch at times.

Two things from the bbc online preview:

" - The Toffees have failed to score in their last two league matches. It's nearly seven years since they were last unable to muster a goal in three successive games.

- Manager David Moyes has made 55 substitutions in the Premier League this season, fewer than any other team."

We've cured the first one. Lets get the second one dealt with too please.
