First match I've been unable to watch all season.

Great that we pulled two goals back to get a point, but I'm gutted that we haven't won.

Too many dropped points this season lads, it'll take a miracle to nick 4th.

So I watch the match after "watching" it on Twitter today since it was tape delayed here in the USA and I've got to say that I was expecting the Johnny Heitinga horror show.

The fact is that he was fully responsible for the first goal as Benteke just blew by him.

Goal number two? Dear Lord. Fellaini, Jags, and Johnny were all standing while Agbonlahor rose to head it in but to say that was all on Johnny is just taking the piss as you like to say in England.

Goal number three. Iffy there as he may have done better but it was also a well taken goal. He also may have been just a tad offside but nonetheless, I'd give more credit to Villa there than say it was Johnny's fault.

Overall, he wasn't near as bad as the neophytes on Twitter would have had you believe but I guess Hibbert can rest easy as Johnny Heitinga is the new player to give stick to.

I can see where you are coming from. As you say the first is purely JH's fault.
The second is also his fault as Agbonlahor is his man, he watches him come back after the 1st cross and doesn't even get close to him to put him under pressure as the second cross comes in (no blame to anyone else as they think Agbonlahor is marked by Heitinga) and for the last goal it is a good finish, but JH is in a terrible position and is a yard too slow.

I don't think he should have played today after the catastrophic error on Wednesday, so I blame Moyes for selecting him and after he was getting raped by Benteke not taking him off after 20 mins.

Johnny had a bad game but why was he, and not Distin, marking Benteke? This isn't the first Johnny has been made to mark a CF way bigger than him. Doesn't make up for the mistakes he made though, can't see him starting again especially since Moyes has shown he is willing to drop players like Jela.

Anichebe was really impressive, with this form I can't see Jelavic getting a look in. It was fantastic seeing Gibbo on the pitch again, he makes every play look clean. We still need to patient with Mirallas, he showed glimpses of his previous form but overall was average. It will interesting to see what Moyes does next week with the RB, will Oviedo start and drop Johnny or will Neville attempt to try and keep up with the pace of Man Utd?

Exciting game but I wouldn't mind a nice tame 2 - 0 win one of these days.

3-3.

An entertaining but ultimately infuriating score draw leading to the ultimate, never-before-seen, GoT meltdown of kipper proportions. There will be blood in the streets and calls for Kenwright's head.
The joys of being an Everton fan
see you all at GP tomorrow
Wow, I feel kind of psychic. Not that it's much consolation

.

According to the commentary I had to endure (Davey Provan, prick and whom I suspect has little time for Everton) we played a back three for most of the game, certainly until the substitutions, Distin was clearly playing very wide on the left, Jags likewise on the right and it seems Gibson (whom I thought had a horror show of his own) supposedly covering Heitinga in the middle. If this is correct then it's shocking tactics. Why isolate Heitinga with Benteke ? it borders on lunacy.

We were obviously far better when we reverted to a conventional 4 at the back and Baines looked far better attacking from deeper.

I'm afraid Moyes must take one on the chin for bad tactics.

Thought Vic was our MoM especially when you consider Mirallas and Pienaar offered very little.

would like to see Oviedo or Stones in at rb for the Utd game. I can't understand why Oviedo has not had more game time as he has looked better than average from what I've seen of him and he has pace and an exuberance about him. That being said I think Heitinga would fair better against Van Persie than Benteke. Benteke is a brute, too big and powerful for Heitinga who seems to be a shadow of his former (supposed) hardman self. Rather not see Heitinga in the side though or ever again until such time as he gets his **** together big time.

Wait to you want to throw Stones in against Utd? In his Everton debut and in his first premiership game and against the league leaders.

David Nuggent - also Moyes on the touchline

I dont want to see Heitinga near a football pitch again.
He makes forwards look world class.

I must add I used to rate him, but he is not at the races recently and costing us goals.
