English Premier League side Everton have signed a major agreement with online gaming and entertainment company 188Bet.

188Bet has become the official betting partner of Everton on an initial two-year deal. Last season, the company signed similar betting partnership agreements with Everton’s city rivals Liverpool, as well as Chelsea and Aston Villa, following agreements to become the principal sponsor of both Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic earlier in the year.

Although financial details were not released, the latest deal is believed to be worth as much as a seven figure sum annually to the Merseyside club, although not quite as much as Liverpool receive from the gaming company.

188Bet, which markets itself as the world’s leading in-play betting specialist, will work with Everton on a number of major initiatives in both the UK and abroad. The brand will also be supporting Everton's community projects through the 188Foundation.

Andy Scott, chief executive of 188Bet, said: “Everton Football Club is another fantastic addition to our valuable portfolio of partnerships with Premier League football clubs.

“It is a club steeped with tradition and history and shares many of the same brand values as 188Bet. We look forward to working with Everton’s passionate supporters as the club continues its exciting progress under David Moyes, making this a fabulous opportunity for Everton and 188Bet alike.”

Robert Elstone, chief executive of Everton, added: “We are delighted to become the latest member of the 188Bet family of Premier League football Clubs. They demonstrated last season from their investment in the Premier League that football was key to their business and it is important that Everton partner with organizations who have a vested interest in our game.”

As well as Paddy Power? Or is that partnership over with?

I hope it wasn't a verbal contract.

In other news, Everton have no money to continue funding Everton Tigers basketball team: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/ever...otball-club-withdraw-funding-100252-26936338/

Think you've jumped there quite a bit Davek to suit an agenda. Where in there does it say "the club have no money to continue funding".

Townsend's returning as owner and managing director from Notts County. And that he was involved with the Everton Foundation's original involvement with Everton Tigers (now Mersey Tigers).

Looks like a change in the Everton Foundation (the charity not the club ) has happened. Since when does this equate to the football club?

I really am a huge fan of your spin, it's sensational mate.

Here's what Elstone told the Kirkby Inquiry last year:

"The main objectives are to address
worklessness priorities by creating opportunities for young adults (16–
24) to obtain coaching qualifications leading to potential employment
opportunities with Everton Tigers whilst at the same time diverting
children from anti social behaviour by engaging them in positive
social activities through a new, uniquely accessible sport."

Now it's "Everton heavily reduced the amount of cash they were putting into the Tigers last summer and have now decided to sever all ties."

Everton CEO in insincerity shocker.

Thats good that. Did you Wikipedia it?

Just came accross this thread. Really interesting points and an enjoyable read. Interesting points about Villa. They have yet to bring anyone in and maybe they will have to sell Milner to cover the rising debt, who knows? Good work guys I enjoyed that!

Why else would they scale back funding and then cut it altogether? They're the chief sponsors. Maybe they'lre having to make good on Elstone's balls up by cutting back on stuff like this?

Did you not notice the recession the countries recently been in?

And again, since when was the Everton Foundation = Everton Football Club.

By definition one is a registered charity No. 1099366- regulated by the charity commission

the other is a privately traded company (Everton Football Club a limited company) regulated under the companies act 2006.

As the Azul said. Sensational bit of spin there.

Just to further reemphasise the point to DAVEK about the separation of charities from companies:

http://www.evertonfoundation.org/about-us/
About Us

Everton Football Club has always had a special bond with its local community.

This has enabled us, the 'People's Club', to generate and maintain an unbreakable link, which has been established over 100 years of top-flight football, with the local community.

It was in 1988 that this relationship was taken further with the development of a co-ordinated community programme and, on 1 June 2004, Everton in The Community (EITC) was born as a registered charitable company (no.1099366), financially independent of Everton Football Club.

With Everton Football Club as the main sponsor, EITC was governed by a board of trustees which comprised a balance of Everton Football Club officials and local independent non-Everton staff. Thanks to the help of various partnerships with other organisations, EITC instigated a range of engaging sports related activities, programmes and initiatives with the aim of making a difference to the lives of people on Merseyside.

Through the work of EITC, it became clear that the programmes in place had huge potential to engage all members of the community, regardless of their age, sex, ability or background.

On 16 May 2009, EITC was officially relaunched as The Everton Foundation.

This name change is more than a mere cosmetic exercise however. It will signal a new era in community investment and involvement, with the support of Everton Football Club as well as that of other partners.

Facht is DAVEK. The whole point of a charity is to have a diverse set of donors to help those that need it.

With a recession, those donors inevitably have less money to donate.

Unless you want EFC to be the sole donor?

But then there's an argument that you're breaking the:

the organisation cannot benefit anyone you have a relationship with – eg family members, friends or members of a group or club

I THINK WE'VE FOUND WHY EVERTON FOUNDATION ARE NO LONGER PROVIDING FUNDING.

Therese a limit to the support that they can actually give a commercial entity, or club like "Everton Tigers" - when it becomes less a community initiative and more a commercial entity.

Good call re Villa Matt mate echoed again- Young in the pipeline for going too there. If Pienaar and Arteta stay and sign new deals we will have been able to invest circa an extra 8m into our wage budget - a point you also made above about having leverage to increase the wages/turnover ratio despite a possibility our turnover will be lower come the next accounts in December. Nice one again

The whole point was. Villa have peaked, they have no way of increasing wages further without relying on Lerner... and the 2013 Financial Fair Play (Club Licensing Regs) have hit that on the head.

Everton are in a much much better position to retain our players (if wanted).

The FACHT is...

people were talking about the "lack of ambition" last summer. HOW WRONG THEY WERE.

IT WAS MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE IMPORTANCE WE KEPT A GRIP ON WAGES IN THE SUMMER OF 2009.

For flexibility THIS SUMMER 2010.

Villa's debt jumped 20% last summer and their wage:turnover jumped to 89%.

Absolutely NO SCOPE to do anything without selling there in the summer of 2010. No net increases in turnover. Its just [Poor language removed]. Gambled on Champions League and majorly lost.

If Everton were in Villa's position I'd be SERIOUSLY PISSED OFF.

Instead we've got a squad that could perform even better. And has been strengthened by Maggie Gueye and Beckford... at BEST VALUE TO EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB.

THATS AMBITION. And not fcuking the club up completely year to year.
