So , if we get another 5m in twelve months time we don't count that as part of the deal.
When we sold Rooney to Utd it was 20m plus add ons and we got 27 in total , was the price we got for him 20m or 27m ?
£20m

Ambition's the easy bit. Don't think we're short of that, I'm old enough to remember Everton at the top of the tree.
Wages and CL are the tricky ones, get CL and ability to pay the big bucks follows.
Asked about the level of ambition at Goodison, the 23-year-old said: “You have to have the attitude, you have to. Everton as a football club has a great history right.
“But the future has to be written. You get me?
“Because we always talk about the teams of the 80s and 60s and if you look it was great. But we as players we want the fans talking about us instead of us talking about them. No disrespect but you know what I mean.
“You want to be remembered as well. No matter where you play you want to be remembered.
“You cannot only be remembered by scoring goals, you want to be remembered by winning trophies at the end of the day.
“So instead of living in the past, you have to think ahead. How this club has to grow, how this club has to improve, which player does it want to bring in so you can challenge for the big trophies.
“Sometimes I will speak to Vincent Kompany who was at City when it all happened. He said, ‘Rom, one summer I just came in and boom, boom, boom, boom… Robinho from there, that guy came in, this guy came in, this guy came in (clicking fingers) and then everyone was criticising them but at the end they won league titles, FA Cup here, League Cups there.
“That is what we want as players.
“I don’t know, I don’t know what the board’s plan is. I don’t really know.
“Obviously stuff is changing and stuff is happening, but like I said there were some players that we could have got. That I knew the club could have got and they didn’t get. And they are playing in this league.
“I am not saying names, but they are doing well.
“It is a little bit frustrating but, at the end of the day, we have fantastic players. We cannot look at the others, we can only look at ourselves. We are the only ones to blame. We cannot blame the fans. We cannot blame the manager.”
We were short of it in the past two transfer windows.
Lukaku probably signed that deal this season if we had a summer like this, last year.

Fwiw, my non Everton and United supporting mates think we've done a cracking but if business here

And the damage was done holding onto that Spanish fraud for too long
He's been our first choice striker all summer.
Honestly don't get the bitterness by some fans here especially considering fee. Don't have to wish him well but seems like hsitory being rewritten or his name is being smeared.

Disagree. Last summer was a mess, no doubt. But from the links (if true) we tried for a lot of top players, but couldn't land them (likely due to no CL/ not willing or able to pay the big bucks wages).
January is a difficult window and think we did ok with Morgan (great player for me) and lookman (jury still out, but could defo come good).
Our ambition will be for all to see, with what we do with the Rom money. If we don't replace well, I'll be the first moaning about lack of ambition from the board.

He stayed here four seasons and gave us a ton of goals...and he fetches in for the club almost 3 times as much as was spent out for him.Such an utterly classless man, we gave him the platform to succeed and this is how he repays us.
He should have kept his mouth shut, acted professionally then he could have left with our blessing. Hope the arrogant bell falls flat on his face ad we finish above them.
When will one player say I'm going to stay & help make Everton great again maybe now we have the ambition someone will & maybe it could be Ross !!I never really cared mate.
It was tedious, but he was always honest - his press conference when we signed him he spoke of Everton being his next step.
He signed (could have went elsewhere after his loan) and scored loads of goals - more than anyone else in my life time.
He's a bit of a tit, and I reckon the dressing room won't miss him.
He deserves his chance in the Champions League.
We go on, but it's a shame we have a tendency to turn any good player who leaves for a top club a judas.
Thing is, I'm convinced if Lukaku wanted to stay - Koeman/Moshiri would have turned down £150m for him.
Whether we agree or not, the point was it frustrated most, including Lukaku by his own words.
