We’ve just had a man who was adored by the fans leave us after guiding us to a 10th place finish and are about to appoint a fat gobshite who’s universally dispised by evertonians everywhere.

Our profile - the country's 4th most successful club and part of a binary rivalry with a global brand like the cult are - is outrageously low.

We had an impressario at the helm for 15 years who managed to under sell the club and tried to bounce us out of the heart of a major English city to the burbs.
 
For the average masochist, we are quite possibly the most entertaining squad in the league bar none. We’ve just targeted the wrong demographic.
 
Footballing purgatory is a good way of putting it. What gets me is people defend fiercely some of the crap that’s gone on here over the years and those behind it , yet go mad when the question of if we are a bigger club than (insert team name here). How long are you going to keep going to our history when you should be asking yourself who’s more likely to be successful in the future!

I know things could be worse , a lot of clubs are or have gone through awful times in their history however football is a competition, it should be the aim to win or at least try to regardless of who it is your playing. Look how smug our AGMs are, I can’t stomach them, self adulation at it’s sickening peak at times and it’s not warranted.

Things don’t improve unless the mentality changes and people are there who are the best possible for the roles, not who will have your back in times of ego massaging.

I forgot who said it earlier, apologies, what they said was spot on, it’s Everton Social Club these days.
 

One of the most gifted footballers, if not THE, we’ve had in my lifetime will have more than likely played his last game for us before any of our fans got a chance to see him live.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want us to be relegated to have some excitement, but I think the original point is a decent one. It's no wonder so many fans are talking about being fed up and packing in going to the game when you look at something like this. We've basically finished 4th (once) and 12th (once) and somewhere in between every year for the last 17 seasons. With 1 cup final and maybe what, 4/5? really notable wins? I wouldn't swap our place for Sunderland's for example, but there's no denying they've had more to keep them interested than we have, it's like groundhog day being an Everton fan.
