I can't help but think this post must be a wind up.

Every player that was brought in during the summer who has played have been miles better than what we already had. Crucially Brands also managed a fairly comprehensive clear out of the absolute mess that had become our first team, brought in quality replacements in the positions that badly needed change and has managed to do this in a relatively short period of time.

The striker situation does need addressing of course but there is no doubt that that will be addressed either in January or next summer and Brands looks like the man to come up with a proper one judging by his additions so far. If we have to wait until next summer then so be it as January isn't the best time to be looking for top drawer strikers.

Brands is the Messiah mate and no mistake.

So why didn't Brands move to get at least some firepower option? Now we're in a situation where we start games with a player bought to play out wide used as an attacker.

It was as urgent, for sure.

based on what? cenk had a decent goal return in the last few months when he was played, again we do need a new striker but in no way was it urgent.

Our strength in depth and first eleven have improved since Marcel had hold of things.

It's easy to forget he was only here for a short time before the window opened in the first place.

There is still a long way to go but if the quality of these signings continues then we'll be in for a good time.

Mate having a decent defence is very important but the most crucial and most important position is the forwards, always has been that's why the best legends are always attackers, does Dixie Dean ring any bells.

We finished last season having conceded 58 goals and still had Jagielka and Baines as regular starters, of course the defence was a priority.
