We're going to win the league, screw all this managing expectations crap I've never seen an Everton side with this good of a chance at doing something special in the league and I'm not going to miss the chance to go a bit mental thinking of what could happen. If we do crash and burn then at least I enjoyed the ride while we were on the up and I don't have doubts that maybe my negativity was in some part to blame. Seriously, if we start believing it then maybe Martinez and the players will start believing it too and it might make them start acting like champions.
There's another thing too, I can't be arsed with all of this flying under the radar bull**** because we've been flying under the radar for 20 years now, I want us to show up as a big **** off circle like the alien ship in indepenence day. I want Martinez to say we're going to win the title every week in his press conferences then after we've beat the RS 21-0 at Wembley in April after having already won the title the week before I want Martinez to show up at the post match press conference with a big **** off grin on his face, say "We're Everton aren't we?" and walk out into the sunset with Z cars playing because it was never in doubt. If we want to be at the top we're going to have to learn how to deal with the spotlight sometime so we might as well deal with it now.
It's a slim chance and I know we always do things the hard way but we're Everton aren't we?
Edit: Reading that back it's a bit mad what half a season of bringing a gun to a gun fight does to you.
I honestly don't understand how you can have Liverpool taking 8 points from their far more difficult fixtures and us getting 6 points from ours.
Maybe "people who win the league" don't go "2-0 down" in the first place.
Did our Title winning teams of '85 amd '87 ever come back from 0-2 to win 3-2?
Win the league...ermmmm. Let's just work on that top 4 slot and improving our play....mmm'kay?
Oveido is boss mate.
Unless we get some good back up in Jan for Barry/McCarthy we'll be absolutely f*cked if we lost either of them for a period of time. McCarthy was a massive loss today and we only played Fulham.
No more loans for me either in Jan unless we have a serious option to buy in the summer. We around 15m-ish in the summer money has to be made available.
WE've got our full quota of loans, I think. Is the rule that you can only play three in one game, or that you can only have three altogether?
Our title winning team in 85 lost their first game of the season to spurs 4-1
What they did was win 10 consecutive games.
They lost a fair few.
What we've got to do is take each game at s time. Just put pressure on the teams around us.
See what happens

Think we lost 5 in total including last 2 when we had already won league. Mini wobble in late November vs Norwich and poss Chelsea and Heath got badly injured vs sheffield we'd. Gray came in though and they bounced back. Massive self belief in that team, never knew when it was beaten. This lads are showing real signs of that self belief and togetherness. Rivals stronger in this era though.
Won 28. Drawn 6. Lost 8.
They went on two 5 games winning spurts.
Then later a monster 10 game run of wins. Lost a few surprising ones.
We've just got to take it a game at a time. Not dwell on setbacks just winning games. I believe we can do anything though. Some manager martinez.
