"Everton can't deal with crosses"

Stop the crosses into the box and we don't have an issue. Midfielders just as much to blame as the full backs here. Basic sunday league stuff that's not been looked at by the manager. Very frustrating.

Good point made above also about defending too deep. Once the ball is cleared or the opposition go backwards at all our back four needs to be up at the 18 yard line. Comes from the keeper first and then defenders to get all out. This allows midfielder's in turn to be closer to the ball and in good position to help block any crosses from deeper
Great point. Many times mids were nowhere in sight with WHU facing a flat line. Just can't do that, especially when the opponent's offense is faster than you and only has to prove it for a few yards near the net.

We need a new keeper, they need to train on defending corners and set pieces. How is stones going to develop as a defender if he not training to use his head.

We are a bit vulnerable to crosses and just in general really but I don't really think Saturday has much to do with that. It's a specific mental fragility at defending leads in my eyes. Ever since Bournemouth, if we are ahead, cruising and then concede, we go to pieces. God knows why we've let it affect us so much - inexperience, lack of leadership, dunno.

You need defenders concentrating on defence rather than being drilled on tappy tappy football. For a long time there have been calls for a defensive coach. Things improve for a short while but the same frailties show again. Is Martinez's policy zonal rather than mark the man. Who knows

Defending is a team effort. We have Barkley and Lukaku who dont defend ..never. We have Stones, a showboater who thinks he is to good to do the dirty work. We have Coleman not very good ,to say the least at defending, We have Jagielka a good defender but hopeless at high balls. That leaves us with McCarthy, Lennon Barry Funes Mori a half decent Jagielka to try to defend. The last third of the game we have a stamina problem. That leaves the team stretched all over the field. Barkley Lukaku jogging around . The full backs having problems to come back fast enough. So time after time we are beaten in the last 10 min. Stoke Westham Chelsea(draw) Bournemouth (lucky draw)

Been saying this for months. Coleman hasn't got a clue!

I would like a upgrade on Coleman, might not be a popular opinion but he just not good enough when defending. I would like to see a proper defensive full back who will help with set pieces and can head a ball.

Nah, he doesn't offer any presence when defending set pieces, he lets Crosse in, doesn't make enough tackles but maybe I'm just fuming but his runs down blind alleys also annoy me.

Just thought I'd like to quote these comments from last week. Please apologise for these comments about our great rightback please.

Utterly bizarre that Chelsea decided to play so narrow last night, run everything through the middle and not bother to cross at all.

Chelsea like to be intricate and play to feet, thankfully our defence seems pretty capable against that kind of play. Probably why we've beaten them nearly 3 times this season. In theory, Arsenal should be similar...
