Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

A couple of things here, BK said when he appointed Martinez that he would give our new manager ' a couple of quid to spend' depends what this is:

1. the money has already been spent on Kone and Robles £6 - 8M with nothing left and now we need to sell to invest further in the squad - we'll sell for between £33 - 35m for both, or

2. Martinez has some money left to reinvest - we'll only sell if we have to, eg get a decent price for Fellaini.

In my eyes, Moyes has lost all respect I had for him, attempting a derisory offer for Baines at the end of June, while he was still being paid at Everton. I think with Alan Myers back at the club, the soundbites and news stories coming out of Goodison will be more in line what the fans expect.

I know we all get annoyed with City buying who they want, but atleast they go about it the right way, an act with more class than United.

If this offer was made last week then Baines and Fallaini must have known about it before the Norwich game. I couldn't say it showed in their performances - unlike Lescott.

Honestly mate, Fellaini elected not to tackle leading up that first goal

It´s like Bale at Spurs, according to AvB Bale refuses to play on account he doesn´t want to risk getting injured. And this while he is contracted to Spurs and paid a salary by them.

It all depends on Baines and Fellaini, Kenwright isn't a Levy type operator, he wouldn't even put up half the fight that Liverpool have to keep their main man. If our two lads tell Bill they want to move on then a deal will be done.

I'll be livid if it all goes through on deadline day, our squad's far too small to stumble through until January having lost our two best players.

What a ridiculous number. I hope this is just a desperate final effort to make Bill crack and they'll jib it off now. It very well may not be though and may just be their opening bid as others have said before here. They can [Poor language removed] right off with that BS though. If Bill accepts an offer of less than £40m something really has to be done. He could do the right thing here or he could [Poor language removed] the squad up irreversably here.

I'd love us to say that's the last business we'll be doing with United now. We've had some good players from them over the years but it's not worth it if in return they're going to try this scandalous behaviour. [Poor language removed] them.

For the record EFC have rejected the bid - all the DM lovers on here can now see what he is about - he went free after what is now an illegal approach by United and now he wants our best two players for free - 28 million imo would not buy Fellaini never mind the best left back in Europe what an utter snide he really is he has lost all respect even a United fan thought it was a joke bid on Talk sport!

It's a pisstake bid but United will be aware of that and will be hoping it rattles the cages of our two best players and our financial situation.

Including add ons we paid around 24m for the pair of them five and six years ago respectively. Since then they've developed considerably into two of the finest players in the league in their positions. So even allowing for inflation and nothing else it's a pisstake bid.

Time for show and tell from us though, too often we've buckled and pandered to United. No better time to tell them to pay our valuation or to do one. No grey areas. Simple as that. We're in a playing season now and our focus is on that.

This is an opening gambit of a bid though and they'll be back. Each time upping the pressure on our players. Two weeks to go.

Even Kenwright isn't that daft mate, he'd be a total tit to sell him for less than the release clause, given the current market & his contract length.

I said a few weeks ago Utd were waiting for his clause to expire then go in lower. It may also be the case that Standard Leige's 15% sell on fee has also expired so in theory we will make more net than if we did selling him for £23 last month.
There are only a few people who really know what the clause said Moyes being one of them so perhaps he knows that its a better deal for us which we are more likely to accept?

I wouldn't entertain any bid for Baines.

Fellaini, he can go. £25+m and I'd accept it, knowing that he's probably worth more than that but the season's started and it's clear where he'd rather play his football.

Maybe David Moyes is the Adolf Hitler of football. A wholy unsympathetic human being given all together too much power by favour of being in the right place at the right time.
