I just dont understand how they offered the same for Baines from a month ago. Why would we accept that?

Because they've obviously tapped him up & know he wants to come, they therefore think their hand has been strengthened.

It's a ****'s trick, as they said their last bid was final & we told them where to poke it, to come back again with it, is a joke tbh & only serves one purpose - to unsettle the player.

I've got a horrible feeling by the end of the transfer window I will be right. Everyone knows we are a selling club, if the right price comes for the right player he will be gone.

Look at it this way. If you were selling a car on ebay and you put a buy it now price for £5000 you wouldnt take less for it when the auction was ongoing. If no one had bid for your car at the end of the auction and the next day someone sent you a message saying I'll give you £4,700 for the car there is a very strong chance you'll sell.

Are you serious? every club is a selling club then.

Waiting for last minute bargains isn't the way the manager of Manchester United should be operating. I'd say getting the player in earlier is far more important to United than saving 2 or 3m.
..he's trying to save a bit more than that here! The feller who felt insulted at low ball bids for our players when manager. Maybe he thinks Martinez should be treated like ****e?

He's proven himself beyond doubt to be an utter weapon now.

If this offer was made last week then Baines and Fallaini must have known about it before the Norwich game. I couldn't say it showed in their performances - unlike Lescott.

the cards are firmly in our hands.....

refuse it outright, its world cup year, make him stay and play for a move after the world cup

the most simple solution ever.....

feckin made up, really disliked Moyes the last two year, how he shafted us is evident for his own gain and now this, people might say its Woodward , bollocks, Moyes has given them insight about our financial plight.... what a cock head

Should we not blame the cause of the problem as well.

Moyes is no doubt telling Woodward and others at United how it was at Everton with Bill, no doubt taking the piss out of his so called mate. Rather like that bint from American Pie " This one time at Everton, we had an awards night and one of them was the Howard Kendall Trophy which he awarderd to himself hahahahaha "

" This one time at Everton, we needed to sell a player to appease the banks and we sold Arteta, Bill told the papers he cried on the phone hahaha we needed to sell him "

We are not desperate to sell agreed, but I'm worried we would sell for less than £23m and I think other clubs think the same

Even Kenwright isn't that daft mate, he'd be a total tit to sell him for less than the release clause, given the current market & his contract length.

We need to come out and say these players aren't for sale or get the deal soon. I don't want it to be the case that both go on deadline day giving us little or no chance to find replacements.

Yes but that bid was never going to get accepted. The release clause was £23m and we'd never accept the first offer so really if we accepted a bid of around £20m then he will only save around 2 or 3m. I'd have thought the Champions of England would want their players in early so they can settle, especially with the growing threats of City and Chelsea this season.
