Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

I hope Arsenal bid £25mill + for Fellaini and we punt him that way.

United will be stumped then.

Nah that would be a bad move. I´d rather he went to Utd. Arsenal are a lot closer to us competition wise. Him going to Chelsea would be ultimate, a part for a foreign club obviously.

17.5M was the eventual cost to Everton for buying Fellaini from Liege...and United want him for 16M off us.

...this is the richest club in the world, by the way.

If we're selling to either one of United or Arsenal, then we could theoretically get some serious business done.

They are both approaching severe levels of desperation when it comes to buying players, something that should surrender any potential upper hand they could have. Our players haven't shown any sort of desire to leave, quite the opposite in fact, so they've got no hand here.

If they want Fellaini or Baines, we should be naming our price. We've actually got them by the balls here if we want to. Any other club would take them for a ride.

You've got that totally wrong.

When the clause was in place the player could have gone at any time for the £23.5m clause figure, so we didn't hold the cards at all. Now it's expired he can only go for what we choose to accept for him, so we're back in control.

A club could have bid any figure they liked when the clause was in place, it's just that they'd have been guaranteed to succeed at £23.5m

I've got a horrible feeling by the end of the transfer window I will be right. Everyone knows we are a selling club, if the right price comes for the right player he will be gone.

Look at it this way. If you were selling a car on ebay and you put a buy it now price for £5000 you wouldnt take less for it when the auction was ongoing. If no one had bid for your car at the end of the auction and the next day someone sent you a message saying I'll give you £4,700 for the car there is a very strong chance you'll sell.

Waiting for last minute bargains isn't the way the manager of Manchester United should be operating. I'd say getting the player in earlier is far more important to United than saving 2 or 3m.

That analogy does not work as we are not desperate to sell.

I would love martinez to open his next press conference with "At Everton we like to do things with a bit more dignity", then jump on the table wearing a Lescott mask and make it rain money like at a strip club while 90s rave blares in the background with a strobe light going strong...
That will show them we mean business

I pointed this out earlier. According to Utd, Baines' value has doubled in the time he has been here and Felli's has gone down.

He wasn't in the shop window though, as we had no intention or desire to sell this summer, therefore your analogy doesn't work mate.

You can't go from 28m to 40m in 2 weeks. 35m is where this is heading UNLESS Arsenal join in.
