Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

The only noted club was Bayern who soon cooled. Fellaini also had interested from Chelsea not so long ago (his dad angled for that move for years).

There's also a lot more to it than just basing how we rate a player on who came in for him. David Platt confirmed Man City wanted Cavani, but weren't willing to pay the £55million or whatever release clause. Do they not rate him that highly?

If Fellaini 's clause had a well known expiry date, why not wait and try to get him cheaper?

Also, he's first and foremost a defensive midfielder. Who spends £20+million on one... Unless you Man City?

But their situations/circumstances are different, so saying the same applies to Baines isn't true, imo.

People are saying Fellaini is better than Modric, or that he is in the same bracket as him, yet I don't think Spurs would have been short of offers if he had a 23million pound release clause.

I rate Fellaini, especially upfront, but I think that 20million would be a fair price, and that 23million would be top-whack for him.

Man Utd is desperate so £20m is not a fair price. If we sell a player to them we are doing them a favour. In fact, we shall keep our players now.
 

I think they are both gone, it's dragged on and on and they'll probably go in the last few days of the window. If they want out, lets get it done so Bill can't hide the money.

Time for Bobby to weave some magic, tough job but lets hope he can

He wants to leave fine, United he is yours for £15 million. Done weeks ago.

I have a feeling this is all Everton doing the delaying now, too late to spend the money.
 
If Man u are not offering the money we want the players will have to put a transfer request in so we recoup some of the money which is fair.

They have offered us money, 12 the most for Baines. No way should we accept that.

We should have negotiated with them 6 weeks ago though.

Our stance has been "Not for Sale"

If the player wants out, whats the point having a stance like that. Just get the deal done.
