Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

But the same is going to happen now....he is going to go on the cheap, because we have left it late.

Don't reckon the club will sell him on the cheap mate, that why we've been holding out. 9 Million was a piss take, 12 million was not enough, give us 17 million and they can have and that is a very fair offer.

Right I don't want to piss anyone off here, when visiting another teams forum you should try and keep ****ishness to a minimum.

It doesn't help I know but I don't want either player. I rate Baines, he's a cracking player and worth more than we've supposedly offered but Evra is very very capable and is one of our best attackers as well, even if Baines is better it's not by that much IMO and I just don't get the point of it.

Fellaini is decent but then again I look at us v Chelsea the other night and see how we couldn't break them down and ask myself what difference he would have made? I'm struggling to see what he would have added to be honest. I'd rather we pursued Modric or Ozil but we wont because we're tight fisted ****s with ****e owners.

Anyway my real point for what it's worth is that I'm embarrassed with the way we've conducted ourselves with regard to your two players, not sure I blame Moyes so much as that ****ing idiot Woodward, I might be wrong but I think Moyes says who he wants then it's out of his hands, maybe I'm being naïve.

As a club though we've had a decent relationship with Everton, not the fans, just the club and it's a shame we're destroying that to such an extent that if you decide to sell on a top talent in the future you will no doubt tell us where to go and I wouldn't blame you. Now don't you all feel better for me saying that?

Can't be arsed getting into a mass debate, but there are plenty of people who disagree with you, and think that he is far stronger playing upfront than he is in midfield.

He is massively overrated by Evertonians, I've actually just seen someone claim that Modric is an inferior midfielder to Fellaini. That's why he was bought by Real Madrid for over 30 million, and not a single club was interested in paying 23million for Fellaini.

If he was half as good as some people make him out to be, then there would be a lot more interest from other clubs and not just Man United who are now being run by an obviously desperate David Moyes, and even Moyes is unwilling to bid over 20 million for him.

He is a good player, but his creativity is minimal, and he is nowhere near as strong defensively as some people make him out to be. You would think he was the greatest midfielder in Everton's history the way some people go on.

If you think his best position is up front then I can see why you'd call him overrated. I wouldn't pay more than £6-7m if I was going to use him as a striker.

Hope so.

I would rather just refuse to sell.

Welcome lid, even if you disagreed with our collective viewpoint but carried yourself sound then there's no problems on here.

As it happens, I reckon you're spot on there. Disappointing but that's footie isn't it?

Why is everyone still talking about this even though there has been NO NEW BIDS?

Baines is happy and so is Fellaini otherwise we would know about it by now.

Out of 3000 posts, only about 50 are actually relevant, the rest are based on paranoia.

Bale took a harder line with Spurs because he was aware of the amount of money Madrid put on the table - I.e. there was no way Spurs could refuse to accept such an offer and any attempt to do so would have been an outrage.

Baines and Fellaini have toed the line with regards training and playing because they are also aware of the low offer on the table from Man Utd which is understandably unacceptable to Everton.

agree with your pragmatic view, but the bit I've emboldened is the crux of the matter

we'd rather not be a club who has to sell their better players

but right now I suppose, it is what it is...

I am far from being alone in holding that opinion, and if you rate Fellaini's play as a forward as being worth no more than 7million then it is difficult to take you seriously.

Ian Dennis (I think it is on R5 at Goodison tonight?) said "it's not factually correct" that Baines has asked for a move, but the way he said it you could tell there's definitely something going on.

I'm sure you don't mate and I didn't intend for that to sound like you're a tin pot club. My first visit to Goodison was the 5-0 of 1985 (was it 85?) And I've seen 15,000 or so Everton inside Old Trafford but as you acknowledge yourself under your current regime you will probably continue to sell your best players and I wouldn't want us to be in a position of enemy number 1 as far as big bill and the board at your place are concerned if you're flogging the next Rooney.

I just don't see Fellaini and Baines as being worth destroying possible future dealings for.
