Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

This is a transfer rumour thread, it feels all a little off point, then again I think I'm only saying that because the sight of evertonians rooting for Liverpool makes me physically sick.

I always hated United, who doesn't? A ghost town of a stadium packed to the rafters with a mixture of Manc nob heads and inane Soccer AM glory hunting dickheads. I now hate Moyes - surely one of the top 3 dourest, sourest c*cks in all of sport never mind football, has now substituted his dignity, honesty and fairness - his few redeeming features - for an almighty arseload of unbearable ego, shameless self-promotion and really heartless attitude.

Whatever you feel about Martinez' credentials he only ever spoke in the warmest of regards about Wigan. He was only ever proud to represent the interests of a people and of a place, however small. He never denigrated Wigan for having 20,000 considered a sellout, he celebrated the 15,000 who were regulars. And though when he came in for Wigan players Bill did his haggling best, we only ever offered a fair price and gave a fair deal. We had that sewn up within 2 weeks, whereas Moyes - manager of the world's most profitable club - has been content to string out every last penny from the employers who had only just finished paying him a £4.2m a year contract, who had made his' dream move' possible, who he knew were one of the league's poorest clubs, whose very fans took pride in rejoicing his name.

Yes, I know, sentiment means little in business, but this is football. Sentiment means everything. Football is illogical to its very core, and is only ever an investment for its fans of diminishing returns; we pay more, we get less. If Moyes really feels satisfied in all that he has done knowing that instead of making use of his undoubtedly substantial transfer fund, he has exerted continual disruptive influence on both players and club, utilising the 11-year bridges he has built with our Chairman and Board - the very same he has enjoyed utterly torching - entirely for his own gain then he really is a [Poor language removed]. Just a complete and utter [Poor language removed]. The remarks he made in the press were so crass and showed such a huge sense of self-importance and such a lack of humility I think we all know the answer to that.

But Liverpool... that is something althogether different. I start thinking about Liverpool and I forget all about United; I forget all about Moyes. They're just footnotes of general grievances and gripes I have with football, they can be filed alongside Alan Pardew and modern retail park stadiums. No, Liverpool are something I hate with every fibre of my footballing brain. I hate the fúcking sycophantic, red-draped, reality-warped, victim-complex, badge-wearing, scarf-waving, YNWA-singing, glory-hunting, match-avoiding, pub-watching, snide-sneering, shíte-chatting gobshíteing lot of them. I would consider the demolishing of Anfield one of the greatest achievements of humanity. If Liverpool ceased to exist tomorrow I would rejoice for football. And if I could never see a pro-kopite post on here again, I could die a happy man.

Now that I've gone off topic I'd best do something to steer it back given my initial point - McCarthy is surely Martinez' target to replace Fellaini. Can we get him? How much would you consider an acceptable cost?

That is an obscenely good post. Brilliant stuff.

And to answer your question, 10m or under is a good deal for McCarthy. Lad is a good player and will prove as much here.

Damn fine post that, had me doing an MP-sounding 'here here' at several points, especially your mutual opinion of our [Poor language removed] offspring.

In answer to the McCarthy question. In an ideal world we could get him for what I believe is his true worth of about 8 million English pounds which Bill has been keeping for Roberto as a belated welcoming pressie.
In the real world...I think we'll sell one or both of the ginger ****s targets and pay an over-the-odds 12.5 mill for him, leaving Bill with his initial pressie outlay plus a few quid interest to put away should he need to find another welcome pressie

Or even "Hear Hear"... :)

I loved that post too, although I can remember the 70s and early 80s when we and the RS hated the red Mancs more than we hated each other.

I loved the craic with the RS at Wembley in the Milk Cup Final and the Charity Shield of 1984. It was genuinely warm and enjoyable.Believe it or not, most RS cheered for us against the Mancs in the 85 Cup Final.

Sadly Heysel changed all that.

The only reason I would cheer for the Mancs since then was when they played the RS but now........
Brenda v Moyes?? Hmmmm

I think I would actually like the RS to win this :o

Think people are going to fume whatever moyes says now. Truth is he's mainly correct here. For the majority of his reign Liverpool had a better side than us. Whether they'v had a really good side or average team (towards the end) they have always been able to lift themselves for the big games, We'v also been robbed on several occasions. Not completely defending his record, he should of picked up 1 or 2 wins there no doubt but it is what it is.

On another note....
Utd have agreed a loan deal for buttner to go to turkey for a year!!
Oh dear!! It's gonna happen.

He fall of crap, he couldn't even get a win at Anfield when he knew he was leaving for Man u, he was a coward for us and looked down on us, he just wants to get out alive. West Brom and Villa won at anfield last season. Wigan beat them at Anfield the season before, Moyes home record was ****e as well against the rs. Southampton battered them as well. He lacks the fans ambition mate.

Who are the 'we' you talk about? I was watching footie in the 70s and 80s and neither I nor any of the Evertonians I knew, hated Utd more than Liverpool.
I will always want Liverpool to lose. Except in a hypothetical situation where we needed them to win or draw for us to win the title. And you can bet your life the [Poor language removed] would lose then.

Kristof Terreur @HLNinEngeland
One man decides if #Fellaini will go to #MUFC: Bill Kenwright. New bid is higher than the expired release clause. Fellaini plays today. #EFC

Another bid? If it's over the rumoured £23.5m release clause then I say we take it.

I hope United annihilate them on Sunday. 1 Because I hope they lose every match. 2 because nothing will cause that lot more pain, than a former EFC manager doing it to them, and the more they suffer the happier I am. I can't get over how any Evertonian could ever want them to do well.
Problem is, Moyes is no longer just a 'former Everton manager' Evertonians treat former managers and players with respect, usually(except Barmby and a few others). Moyes has destroyed any respect that Evertonians ever had for him, and he will find this out when he brings 'his' team to GP.

Have to agree mate, the good will that was there has been severely damaged. I prob shouldnt be but am stunned he came in with that 28mill pound offer and furious because it was designed to make the two players agitate against the club - a club that picked him from obscurity and gave him a platform and patience to develop. He is also massively hypocritical - remember his comments about City/Huges during the Lescott saga when they did exaclty the same team. I have no problem Utd making bids, but what he did was massively snidey - have lost about 95% of the respect that i had for him. He would do well to be reminded what happened to Hughes at City, if hes not careful he could wind up manager of the likes of West Brom.

Anyway ill hold my hands up as one of his biggest supporters, i was massively naieve to think he would do the decent thing when came to Everton - you live and learn - hes just gone on the snide list.

He couldn't give a **** - the minute he bid for our players he knew he was basically saying fck you lot.

Best post on here in a long time - word perfect summary of how every Evertonian feels right now, or should feel right now.

Ah the Analfield derby last season, the one were the worlds greatest Evertonian stood up in their directors box giving us a mighty round of applause because we got a 0-0 draw.

Remember Kenwrights role in all this and his frequent phone calls to Moyes since he went to Manure.
