I understand what Khalekan's saying, but I never ever could want the sh!te to win under any circumstances

I can handle a draw, that suits me for this one

No score draw with a couple of longer term injuries on each side, not LB or MF's positions though!!!. Pity rat boys not playing for the RS,he might have been a bit peckish and bit the ginger whinger along the way!!!

Right. I agree Baines is probably the best..but casual viewers, especially ignorant American ones (who like or want to try watching but really don't understand or appreciate the little things at this high a level yet, and probably havent played since they were 10 years old), do NOT recognize that. They do recognize a big, fiery, bruiser whose easy to spot, can score goals and flash some ball skills. That's all I was saying.

I'm an ignorant American who never played the game and have only been watching for about four years, but I can see the nuances in Baines' game. Baines is our best player, hands down. Fellaini is a class player, don't get me wrong. But what Leighton Baines means to Everton far outweighs what Marouane Fellaini means to Everton. Baines can pick a cross or a through ball like it's nobody's business (imagine if we had someone on the other end who could finish them). So while I see your point, and I am still learning the game, not all of us Americans are completely clueless!

I don't think Moyes has said too much wrong. He was asked a question and gave an honest answer. Of course we should have done better in recent years but for the majority of his reign Liverpool were a very good side who could beat anyone in Europe.

Do you want him to turn round and say "I had a poor record there because I'm an awful manager who bottles the big occasion". It's not going to happen.

Well said. I don't think he meant all Americans though, but it definitely came across badly.

Actually no it is not the brutal logic of the game. Had Kenwright treated Moyes with the respect he deserved i.e. none, and fired him prior to his taking up the position at Manure we wouldnt be in this position now - he would have then only approached us with serious offers for the pair, or better still, made no offer at all.

Kenwrong had the chance to damage Moyes career in the same way he sabotaged our clubs prospects - he missed it. Thats the only brutal logic as far as I can see.

I disagree with you mate. I do think you are right in saying that Moyes should have been out the door the day it became clear he was going to manchester but whatever way kenwright handled it the reality si that moyes as man U manager would have been back in for baines who is the best in his position in Europe. Nothing Bill did or did not do would change that.

He could have left out the "awful manager" bit.

And told the truth

"I had a poor record there because I'm a manager who bottles the big occasion".

:)

Or he could have said that he was cheated out of a win at Anfield last season by a poor decision from the ref.

But no.

Not old Davey.

He will always big up the opposition.

They all do it and give him a break mate.

Look at it like this. If you were managing a baseball club in Pittsburgh or Detroit and the yankees offered you the job would you take it? I would. If you wer a basketball manager nd the Lakers offered you the job.....yes i'd take it as well.

We all despise what manure stand for but the reality is they re hte big fish in the pond and Moyes said yes tot he Big fish. No more than than that.

Just what every manager does. People are looking for any excuse to have a go at him now, personally I think it's a shame how it all turned out but I guess he only has himself to blame after the original bids.

DM on why he has never won at anafield -thank god he has gone - what a pathetic excuse! Moyes, who takes United to Liverpool on Sunday for the first time, never won there in the league during 11 years as Everton manager. He said: "It was down to Liverpool having really good teams with people like Xabi Alonso, [Javier] Mascherano, [Fernando] Torres at his pomp, Steven Gerrard – they had really good teams at that time and were one of the teams that went on to win the European Cup. That's why it was very difficult to win regular games at Anfield because of the quality of the side they had."-

[Poor language removed] off Moyes.

What about when they had Henderson, Spearing, Downing, Kelly and Carroll in the side but we lost 3-0?

Or when they beat us 1-0 with Insua, Ngog (replaced by Babel), Maxi and Kyrgiakos (who was sent off early) on the pitch?

How about our 2-1 loss in 05 when they fielded a strong side which included Baros, Nunez, Dudek, Pellegrini and Biscan?

Not to forget we've had the likes of Baines, Cahill in his pomp who was one of the best on the field in virtually every derby, Martyn, Jagielka and an in-form Jelavic who was inexplicably left on the bench.

F*cking idiot.

Sheeyit, son...I'm from Texas. You can get lynched for calling it Football down here. I'm not insinuating we are all ignorant (and certainly not you, brother), but a majority sure as hell are...and that's ok. Lack of exposure lends to that. It will get better with time.

I certainly agree with you on Baines...but what Allen said earlier about Baines being the best, and Fellaini being the most iconic/recognizable is along the lines of my thoughts of folks on this end of the pond being drawn to him on a more visceral level, if you will. I love them both and want them to stay...and if I had to pick one or the other, Baines hands down. Sorry if I offended.

Wow, careful there, that's a pretty high level of condescension. Oh and for me, Fellaini is the best player at the club, has been for a few seasons now.
