Everton confirm rejecting 28M for both Fellaini and baines

I'm not missing any point. I can't make my point any clearer, I rate Evra highly, very highly actually as both a defender as an attacking option, we don't need a left back end of story as far as I'm concerned.

Yet his attacking stats are absolute garbage next to Baines and your set piece stats from free kicks are tosh.

So you've missed the point. You're so sold on Evra that you're too blind to consider how Baines pisses all over him offensively.

Interesting that you feel that Man U are struggling to pay for any new players. Obviously United could find money if they really needed it. Presumably the talk of interest in Bale and of Ronaldo returning were simply paper talk? Is there a growing feeling of doubt re Moyes' appointment among United supporters ?

We couldn't find money mate, we're skint relatively speaking, hasn't every club received an extra £40 million this year? Well we wont spend much more than that, if that. We've still not spent the Ronaldo money and never will, it's gone to Delaware in debt payments. £50 million a year we pay in debt interest, that's not reducing the debt just interest alone costs us £50 million.

I am not doubting Moyes, I think he'll do pretty well but absolutely one million per cent one reason he got the job was because he has shown that he can manage on a budget.

Interesting perspective that actually. Didn't consider that United may be reigning things in....

Yeah stats, whatever pal. Why are you so bothered? You rate Baines a lot higher than Evra and I don't. I can live with that and I hope we both keep our current left backs. You sound almost annoyed that some of us don't want the fella

It's just the lack of footballing knowledge and dismissive attitude that bothers me really.

The way you just laugh off stats and say "Evra is boss, get over it, end of story". You're not really backing up your viewpoint with anything.

For example, you said you rate Evra very highly as an attacking option. So, simple question - why exactly? What backs that up?

I have been saying all window that I could not see why Moyes is so keen on getting Baines in. I honestly cannot see the point. Not one Utd fan I know has identified LB as an important problem for you this season.

Yeah but that's all it is, my viewpoint, I can't really give you anything else. I'm not even arguing that Baines isn't better, I just like Evra a lot and rate the lad highly, from a club point of view it just doesn't make any sense IMO and that's all it is, my opinion. It stinks of Moyes needing to make a signing or two and him just going with something he knows.

Exactly this. It's nothing to do with Baines's ability, he's clearly very very good.

I think Tubey is on a % of the deal or something.

Didn't realise this was the case for MU.

I agree though, you guys don't need a left back. However, I think you need Fellaini more than you think - there isn't ANYONE in your squad who offers what he does.

I struggle to understand why Kagawa doesn't start though, can't we bring that lad in?

Of course you could. Give stats, examples of games Evra has turned around. Perhaps explain why a stellar side like United need a static full back in the mould of Evra instead of an attacking one in Baines.

Also, if you seriously think David Moyes would just make a signing for the sake of it, you have a lot to learn about David Moyes. The man is clinical in the transfer market. I detest the man, but he is by far and away the best transfer market worker I have ever seen.

Baines and Fellaini would offer you something completely different to what you have now, that's why he's after them. Fellaini will offer a battering ram up top against stubborn opposition, allowing Kagawa etc. to pick up scraps, whilst Baines provides an attacking outlet you simply don't have at present.

OK, someone explain to me why David Moyes is mental to want an incredible attacking full back to bolster the attacking options of the reigning champions of England, who very rarely need a left back to defend for major periods of a game?
