But the rest of the decade would make up for it :)

Would be like that moment Gerrard slid on his knees celebrating the winning goal against us, when behind him it was being dissallowed, only on a much larger, funnier scale.

That would be special, but I just don't want them to have the time to arrange yet another pact with the devil......so I'm hoping that yesterday was the defining moment - complete with Gerrard's on pitch heart break.
 
I can see there being mixed feeling at Goodison on Saturday with a massive split in what people want to happen. Can also see players like Distin and Howard getting all annoyed at our fans for even contemplating us losing. Maybe us lot as fans will disappoint them like they did to the 3,000 who got up in the early hours of Saturday morning to travel down to Southampton, only for the 11 on the pitch to put in a half arsed spineless performance whilst "nothing to play for Southampton" ran around at 100mph to get the win.

At the end of the day, we aren't going to get 4th, so 5th will do. We can lose on Saturday and then it's up to the players to beat a below average Hull side who are only bothered about the Cup final. If they can't beat Hull, then it's their own fault we won't have qualified for Europe.

Can't see United winning all their games anyway so reckon we're ok for the Europa League.

If Arsenal slip up tonight then I want us to try for 4th and wil hope we win on Saturday and hope palace beat the [Poor language removed], but if Arsenal get the 3 points tonight, 4th is over and I would happily miss out on a meaningless win rather than have to put up with those horrible bastards winning the league. A defeat for Football if they do it.

True, but fifth gets to avoid an extra game in the summer when we will have players tired from world cup excursions. Fifth also gets us more money.
Most importantly, we finished sixth last year and after all we have done this season is it not important to beat last season's league position? Then we can truly say that we have improved.

It's what we should aim for and boy do I hope I will see it In my lifetime one day, especially with a win at anfield like arsenal did, but this season we have to be realistic, there was no world class striker and the squad simply didn't have enough depth to win on such a consistent basis, especially given we were in a transition season, just being realistic.
