So, my initial inclination (about the posts in this huge thread) are right, you'd rather see Liverpool's demise than Everton glory.

No.

There's no 'glory' left for us to chase, while there was i.e. 4th, you were irrelevant.

Now that's gone, there's no way we want to hand you the title whilst gaining absolutely nothing beyond what we've already got as good as in the bag i.e. EL.

I'm still (perhaps naively) hoping we can get 4th. A month ago, Arsenal went 4 games on the spin without a win (Us, Citeh, Swansea and Wigan - who they couldn't beat in open play.)

I'm not expecting us to, but I hardly think hoping Arsenal get 2 draws, or worse, is akin to praying for a miracle.

.. anyway, finding Glory in finishing fifth is very Phil Neville!

It's been a cracker first season but Europa League has become a bit of a consolation now! Shows how far we've come in 12 months to say just that

The men who line up for Everton will do their best to win. They won't have the same mental conflict
as some, maybe most of us.
Que sera, so why agonise about it? After all, as the song says, We don't care...

I just think them lot will be the worst champions in premier league history.

If they win it then they have been the best team this season i am not disputing that. However City just seem to be so indecisive and drop needless points against teams they should really be beating with ease. Chelsea just havent got a decent striker which is amazing considering their thing for buying players when they feel like it (Saleh + matic for example).

If they win then the best team will win the league, but they aren't the best team. They certainly won't win it next year and it will be a one off ala blackburn but i just dont think they have the best 11 players, only 2 and a good captain.

My head hurts!

We need to win because we need 5th guanteed as every position we drop in league is worth £800,000 less

2 draws would be enough for them anyway

Judging by our performance last Saturday I don't think those who want us to lose against City have too much to worry about.

Not sure about that like. If we won both our games, and they drew theirs, their gd would obvs stay the same, whilst ours would obvs improve. They're currently 3 better off than us.

Like I say, I'm not expecting it. But you know what it can be like, and I wouldn't be at all shocked if this time next week the consensus here is that it's back "on."

Realistically, West Brom are now safe and won't be that determined to prevent Arsenal a routine win.

I take your point but in reality you're talking about WBA having to leave the Emirates with at least a point and then assuming they did, Arsenal going to Norwich knowing they needed something to secure 4th and failing. They're back on form now, they'll waltz it. We blew it at home to Palace.

Imagine how bad it would be if we did beat City and as expected Arsenal then beat WBA on Sunday....so we'd have gained knack all and handed the kopites the title initiative back, after watching them so beautifully spew it last Sunday?

What I mean Is if they win the league then they have been the best team this season. But on paper they are not the best team in the league because if city Chelsea and United had gotten their act together they would be the top 3.

Remember the same United team won he league last year and the only reason why they aren't up there is moyes. Chelsea have no clinical striker and city drop needless points half the time.

They won't win the league next season mark my words.
