I get that, but then I think back to 15 year old me telling myself the exact same in 2005...

Obviously it has the potential to catapult us onto bigger and better things but I'm also realistic enough to think regardless of where we finish in the league we will probably spend the least amount of money out of the top 7 clubs.

If this all ends up being a flash in a pan with us making a quick exit from Europe then it means nothing. Here's hoping we finish 4th, get taken over by a billionaire and finally start winning some trophies...

As an Evertonian, the idea of us pitting our wits against the best is incredibly exciting.

That I agree with.

That 20 million makes a difference when our rivals consider that pocket money, not so much.

Cl will be fun and i want it for that reason. Not cos I think it will improve the club's finances.

The qualifying round won't be as tough, they needed us out last time to fit liverpool in.

It could still be bad - Athletic Bilbao will probably be in there, as will either Fiorentina, Inter Milan or Parma, Leverkusen or Wolfsburg, and Feyenoord. Then theres all the smaller nation teams that have more CL experience than we do.

Be Napoli not Fiorentina, only the top 3 in italy get it.

I think on another thread we had it narrowed down to porto, bilbao, leverkusen, lille, napoli and zenit as the 6 most likely to be the 5 seeds we'd be drawn against.

The smaller nations teams like celtic etc we can't meet as champions and non champions are separated in qualifying.

People on here getting excited about the £20m we'd get from the CL -- if we make the group stage. Well, in the past 9 months we've made £20m profit on players and £20m on extra TV money -- and I don't see any signs yet that we're going to see any of that released for purchases in the summer.
