Palace weren't going to beat us mate.

Sunderland weren't going to beat us.

We're not exactly renowned (sp) for getting results when we have to are we?

Can't be doing with the risk myself.

Suppose like. Just wouldn't fancy us to balls it up on the last day of the season.

Plus we're assuming Spurs and Utd will win their games too aren't we? I'm sure they'll slip (lol) themselves.

If Arsenal win tonight, which they most likely will, then 4th is gone for us (we need Arsenal to slip up twice and that won't happen)....it was in our
hands against Palace & Southampton and we blew it....

we'll still beat hull on the final day, they're safe now and will only be caring about the FA cup final...

so with all that said, defeat against Man City is the only way we can avoid the hell of seeing Liverpool win the league (and the media celebration that will follow)...

Finishing lower than 5th would be a massive, massive dissapointment.

I'm more confidant that we can beat City at home, than a last game of the season away trip to Hull. Considering our recent away performances at Sunderland and Southampton.

For that reason, we need to beat City at the weekend. Spurs our on our heels.

If Arsenal Win Tonight We Wont Get Champions League So Would you take a defeat agaisnt City so it will stop liverpool winning the league? I Would

We have had so many pathetic threads like this, this year. What is wrong with you? I don't think you support Everton. You just obsess over Liverpool. You saddist

For me it all depends on tonight's result, if Arsenal lose then I would take defeat to City as the price for keeping them off the top spot. I would begrudgingly accept them winning the title if it means fourth for us. If they don't win it this season it will be interesting to see the effect that has on them next year - being so close and losing it at the final hurdle. Will they fall away again as Newcastle did or will they come again stronger?

I want to go into the Hull game with European qualification officially obtained (preferably with 5th place also confirmed) so I can relax and just enjoy the match.

Do you really think we won't beat Hull though? They will put half a side out if that, so 5th shouldn't be a worry.

Also West Ham could beat Spurs, last home game of the season against a team they hate.

I agree on the need for 5th as it will be great for Bobby to come in and improve our league position when most of us probably thought top 8 would be about it this year.
Do you really think we won't beat Sunderland? Palace?

No game is certain, Long and Jelavic are cup tied, so will be playing. I want 5th. Or at least Europe.

You can't have it both ways:

Ahh we'll deffo win against hull
Spurs might slip up.

Look at it the other way too:

We might slip up
Spurs might win all theirs, united might win all theirs.

We HAVE to win a game, city or hull i don't care, aslong as we win ONE

Exactly. Like they did at home to Sunderland.
I think it will be different this time. They thought they'd lost it, but now they've been given another bite of the cherry and it's back in their own hands.

That in itself will give them a massive lift coupled with the return to fitness of both Toure, and Aguerro who is now looking far sharper.

It's all about Saturday for me, if they can beat us, then the title is theirs IMO.
