Everton extends kit deal with Umbro

Horrendous design. Garish even for Yanks.

It just depends. Some UA is garish, some is very good. The consumer/non-team stuff is better, IMO. A lot of golf clubs I see/frequent have UA branded apparel and it's usually quite good. The advantage to UA has always been fit, as it is athletically slim without being Puma-slim.

UA does the apparel/uniforms for my college, and while the quality is good the design suffers from the same problem Umbro has w/ EFC - they always try to do too much and distinguish themselves. For UA it's usually being a bit too bold, for Umbro it's usually a bit to complicated (incorporating some feature of Goodison or the toffee pattern in training gear or something else silly). I honestly wish we'd just get really, really smart versions of the Umbro templates, they look great. Seems to me making more simplistic kits that might inspire more regular wear would be good for both Umbro and the club.

I wish they would just stick to plain, bold colours and not some horrendous design... the new chelsea home kit is awful... their new black away though is top class.

My college spent a decade with UA and we never had any real wild or garish uniforms. We had a few fun gradient stripes and a couple of pop colors, but nothing too outlandish. The school or club has a lot of input and if they don’t want to look like clowns, they can reject UA designs or give them tighter guidelines to work with. They also have some huge schools in their portfolio like Auburn where there would be a revolt if they made changes to the uniforms.

I'm an Auburn guy. I agree the uniforms have retained the traditional design, but there have been a lot of discussions/arguments about the numbers, whether UA altered the colors, etc. But what I'm really referring to is the AU fan gear and the coaches gear, which is often pretty awful IMO. I envy Nike schools merely because their sideline/fan gear has a much cleaner aesthetic and design that makes it much more suitable for wearing at any time. I think UA may be getting better in this regard, probably because so many AU supporters have gone to Peter Millar or other brands to find the "cleaner" look I'm talking about.

College football is a weird comparison though, since some schools haven't changed their basic uniform in 40 years or so, unlike football/soccer, which change the details every year. But I'm talking about these, including the wide market stuff. Then again, I've never liked any logo bigger than a human head splashed along the front of a hoodie, especially in hunter orange camo (or do I just live in the wrong part of the US?)

Yup, I have that top and it's the best Kit we have had... I know that... even those inside the club thought it was better than the kit we had for that season 17/18... even that badge is great.
alas...

I don't mean this season specifically, just recently.
Roma have never had Under Armour kits.

I'm really not a fan of Under Armour kits in general. They do the occasional nice one but more often than not they are overly fussy. Case in point Southampton this year...

The UA kits are... OK. It's a moot point really... I just think that having umbro for so long now, it's just we need a change...
