Everton FC website

Here's my issue with the site:

I have a myriad of passwords for various things and I've forgotten which one is for the Everton official site. I use it mainly to watch the highlight packages of the latest games as it's not likely I'll be ordering tickets in the foreseeable future. When I try to use what I think is the right password, I get an "Oops, something went wrong" message. Ditto with the other passwords. So I try to register and start a new account. I put in all the proper information -- name, e-mail address, home address, etc. -- then when I hit the "submit" button, it takes me right back to the start of the registration process. Aggravating doesn't begin to describe it.
I forgot my password a few years ago and after I created a new one they rejected my log-in because my
email address was 'already taken'. Yes, by me. Still can't get in.

The sleeping giant that is EFC is awaking and making great strides in the transfer market, but every time I go to the website Im astounded at just how bad it is.

As a team that is trying to raise its international profile, a quality website is the first port of call for those that want to know more about us. If we are happy to (potentially) spend £50m on players then we should spend £50k on a quality site with a great user experience.

Does anyone know anything about who looks after the site?

50K sounds a bit much mate.

Nonsense mate. I am an international fan, have been for 26 years. I use the Official website for tickets only... or the odd check of the fixture calendar. i get back for 5-10 home games per season, 3-5 aways, plus most European away games, if we are qualified. It is common knowledge that the OS is the last to publish breaking news, there are much faster sources available! But I guess, using terms like UX and wireframes, your post was mainly intended to exclude the non-geek population in order to build ego....

Thanks Mike, you illustrate my point exactly although you miss it entirely, which is of course is my fault.

I said 'international' meaning those that dont get to home games and want to know more about the ethos of EFC. I should have explained better. You use the site in a manner akin to a local, you buy tickets and look at fixtures, maybe by shirts. I believe for that particular use case the site does a good job as your not the first on this thread to say so. Obviously the news cant be published on the official site until it is official so I haven't even mentioned it, news we leak unofficially will always be found on other third party sites first.

Im not sure why you then have a dig at the contributors to this thread by stating they are 'geeky', like thats a bad thing? Im also utterly confused how excluding the 'non-geeky' would build my ego? haha.

I appreciate your contribution but not the underlying cynicism or geekophbia. ; )

It actually won some design award a few years back if I recall.
It's not the looks that give me headaches, it's the fact that for the last 3 or 4 years I've had to input my credentials everytime despite ticking the "Remember me" box (not for shop or tickets, just for the everyday stuff).

I hate the whole side scrolling thing

I had to totally re register because it kept telling me "oops there is a mistake somewhere".
Of course I had to use a new email address because it wouldn't let me re register using the original one because someone already had that one...me FFS!
Anyway, all good now. But like others, I tick the 'remember me' box but I still have to always go through the log in process (enter details) regardless.
I don't go in there that much so I don't get to get up about it really.

Everyday stuff? What like Everton milk?
